I'm looking a new Lenovo laptop for student use + web browsing + Ms Office work in the range of RM3k

What is the main difference between IdeaPad Gaming 3(i) and IdeaPad 5 if I'm choosing the same spec?

If you're only going to use it for those purposes, I would suggest you get the ThinkBook instead of the IdeaPad Gaming

Some ThinkBook can still fit your RM3K budget

ThinkBook has many options to choose from. Which one should I start with?

I randomly played around and got this:
ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 (RM2,723.85 - after eCoupon FRONTLINER)

Look at Yoga7 which been posted numerous times before. Keyword is to use “FRONTLINER” code upon checkout. Though the waiting time can be quite long.

Ryzen 4600u ultrabook with 16GB RAM, genuine office H&S and proper 300nits display for under RM3k. I don’t think you can find anything better already.

Alternatively, if you don’t mind the sucky display on Ideapad Gaming 3 I listed above, that’s currently the best value laptop Lenovo is offering.

All in all, it backs down to whether you prefer gaming laptop (better performance, bulkier and suckier display) or ultrabook (better mobility, better display, can charge with USB PD powerbank).

Which Yoga7? Something like this?
Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14ARH5 (RM3,244.85 after eCoupon:FRONTLINER)

========================

In short with a 3k+ budget, I should avoid IdeaPad and go for Yoga or ThinkBook. Is that right?

I'm currently using ThinkPad X1 Yoga as my company laptop. This new purchase is for my Primary 1 kid + wife use.

for carry-in warranty, how do we do shipment to "Lenovo Depot"? As of now, I'm opting for Onsite Support (not Premium).

I'm still playing around with Yoga 7 Slim specs. Looks promising so far!

1 question though.

I upgraded the display for RM90 for this:
14.0" FHD (1920x1080), IPS, Glare, 300nits, Non-touch, Narrow Bezel with Glass

is it good for student or wider view angle?
BEFORE was:
14.0" FHD (1920x1080), IPS, anti-glare, 300nits, Non-touch

complained to CS.

My order which was RM3.5k this morning but got stuck while I was submitting payment, can only be "best offered" as RM3.7k via direct quote to my mailbox. The CS told that by using the voucher, the profit margin was too low for them

You guys may try eCoupon STUDENT as this is what used by the CS to get the best offer (after FRONTLINER is gone/nerfed). Good luck!

In general, I'm observing laptop online sales has increased a lot recently and certain models/series are out-of-stock. Even Microsoft Windows Home in Lenovo only left single language version.

That's also one of the reasons why I go ahead with my cart despite paying RM200 extra doh.gif
