QUOTE(tehoice @ Apr 17 2019, 11:22 AM) How about leaving a dedicated spot for us to install the dashcam on our own? a USB port there, so we don't have to pull the whole wire down. haha Preferably, car makes should get things done like that. I believe it would be a common thing 5 years down the road as they see the proliferation of dashcams. Neater, less clutter, less chances of wire failures, safer (especially those that need to route wires near air bags for rear cams).

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Apr 17 2019, 12:51 PM) My ciggie port spoilt and SC blamed the USB charger I used cause it. Cannot claim warranty. Have to pay to replace the ciggie port in my car. Until now still using the same USB charger by Aukey. Guess they say because it is not a "dedicated" 12V socket, hence anything other than using it to light the ciggie will voild warranty....

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Feb 5 2020, 02:42 PM) ....some will say void warranty for the ciggie port if something happens to the ciggie port. the most stupid shit a dealer/SA can say, why the heck put 12v port for? Might as well say don't drive the car at all, because driving the car causes unwanted wear and tear towards the whole car, warranty will void for every single component

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Feb 5 2020, 09:39 PM) Honda said mine no warranty cause the damage was done by my Aukey USB car charger. this is epic.....tried going to another dealership? Maybe just don't say anything about you using a car charger, maybe they will change under warranty for you.

QUOTE(tehoice @ Feb 27 2020, 11:41 AM) Quick question guys, anyone of you use two front camera and place one at the back instead of using a dual dashcam which has the back camera ones too? i currently have one 70mai pro but hasn't install yet. thought of getting a 70mai to install it at the back, do you think this is okay or not? and why? thanks. what makes you think cannot?

QUOTE(tehoice @ Feb 27 2020, 11:55 AM) erm, i'm not too sure though. cos i will also need to connect the wiring all the way back to the front console box there, a kinda tedious work to do. unless i bring it to the accessories shop and ask them to install. believe they can fuse it to the electric board or something, right? Dual channel also need to connect the wire all the way from the back to the front main unit, so similar effort. There's 2 ways : 1) as you mentioned, can tap the fuse 2) if you're concerned about fuse tapping, can just go the traditional route with a USB charger on the 12V socket. Just get those with at least dual ports and verify the voltage and amperage. Don't buy those unknown brands, pay a little more for quality unit, those more decent units usually also can supply more power.

QUOTE(kelvyn @ Nov 16 2025, 01:34 PM) Hi Would like to ask if 128GB memory card is sufficient? For car with front & rear camera. Front is 4k recording. Not using parking mode QUOTE(Cavino @ Nov 17 2025, 08:46 AM) Technically minimum. Note that the more memory storage you have, the more days it can retained the recording before overwriting. If you suddenly wanted to refer back to certain incidents days ago with lots of driving, you might have your days old data overwritten if memory is insufficient. So if 128GB say enuf, yes, but if you want days of recordings, even weeks, the more storage, the safer it is. Just like cctv, you can get a 500gb storage or 2 TB storage. Both can do the job and overwrite data when full BUT if you suddenly want to refer to recording months ago, you might not get it in 500GB but more chances the recording are still retained in 2TB storage. Your choice. For 4K, I would suggest 256GB at moderate recording period at least if you want to keep days or week old recording. Optionally, you can also switch to 2K recording to lessen the recording size (I feel already good enuf unless you want to do tik tok) to increase number of days it can retain data for reference if needed. before buying larger memory cards, always check whether the dashcam can support the larger capacity you wanted
