I stopped putting money in & moved most existing money in StashAway to flexible portfolios.
I started DIY using IBKR instead.

QUOTE(Macam Yes @ Mar 22 2024, 12:45 PM) Yes. IBKR (Interactive Brokers) is a broker, where you buy stocks (among other stuff).Getting started might be intimidating but once you get over it, it is very easy. If you're using StashAway single ETF portfolio, you're basically already choosing "funds". The same ETFs (and a lot more) are available in brokers. You also get to purchase Irish-domiciled ETFs , which has tax benefits for malaysians This post has been edited by godhpf: Mar 22 2024, 12:56 PM Takudan liked this post

Only reasons that I can think of is if one has relatively low amount of money to invest monthly or if you want something in MY. I'll keep some of my investments in StashAway primarily for that reason. In case something happens to me, my spouse has multiple channels to get money from, one of them being in MY where she can physically go to them. |

This company should just close down for good. Majority of the investors already left. Cannot trust them anymore since the KWEB fiasco. Buy high sell low is their motto. Better learn to DIY and save from fees. This post has been edited by Barricade: Mar 22 2024, 02:02 PM imforumer, langstrasse, and 1 other liked this post

Thanks guys! I always thought only one portfolio can be created for each portfolio type
Nevertheless stashaway really need to step up their game as there are more etf trading platform coming in MY. No point to stay if we can get better return with lower fees at somewhere else. |

I was quite disappointed that time due to their knee-jerk reaction on KWEB incident, but I've decided to give Stashaway another chance, hoping that they'll learn from this mistake and be more cautious/emotionless with their decision. I'm in Stashaway for close to 5 years now with an annualized ROI of 8.6% post-fee. Consistent DCA with a bit of lumpsum here and there. I'm not sure if I can beat their performance if I were to DIY myself, and I've gotten very passive(lazy) in investing, so for now I'll still continue to use their platform. Cubalagi liked this post

Yeah same here. I was this close to withdrawing everything from Stashway after the entire KWEB fiasco but decided to stay put.I'm in Stashaway for close to 5 years now with an annualized ROI of 8.6% post-fee. No complaints. |

QUOTE(onthefly @ Mar 25 2024, 03:34 PM) I didnt realize he was no longer in SA until someone mentioned it, but when they introduced the lady from HK back then, I already felt maybe there was going to be a change in the organization.Anyway, if they keep improving their service, I will still use them, despite the unfortunate KWEB event. |
