I stopped putting money in & moved most existing money in StashAway to flexible portfolios.

I started DIY using IBKR instead.

Yes. IBKR (Interactive Brokers) is a broker, where you buy stocks (among other stuff).

Getting started might be intimidating but once you get over it, it is very easy.

If you're using StashAway single ETF portfolio, you're basically already choosing "funds".
The same ETFs (and a lot more) are available in brokers.

You also get to purchase Irish-domiciled ETFs , which has tax benefits for malaysians

I actually don't understand why the annual fee is the same between general investing and flexible portfolio in Stashaway since flexible=manage by our own
but now they even charging for simple so it's a sign to move out

Single ETF portfolio fees are lower though.

But then again, not much reason to use StashAway if I'm just going to manage it by myself, single ETF or otherwise.
Only reasons that I can think of is if one has relatively low amount of money to invest monthly or if you want something in MY.
I'll keep some of my investments in StashAway primarily for that reason. In case something happens to me, my spouse has multiple channels to get money from, one of them being in MY where she can physically go to them.

This company should just close down for good. Majority of the investors already left. Cannot trust them anymore since the KWEB fiasco. Buy high sell low is their motto. Better learn to DIY and save from fees.

what godhpf said.

basically, if you have 1 flexible portfolio, with 3 ETFs (e.g., gold, XLK, S&P)

just split them into 3 flexible portfolio (Portfolio A with Gold, Portfolio B with XLK, C with S&P). you can enjoy 0.3% instead of 0.8% management fee

Thanks guys! I always thought only one portfolio can be created for each portfolio type rclxub.gif

Nevertheless stashaway really need to step up their game as there are more etf trading platform coming in MY.
No point to stay if we can get better return with lower fees at somewhere else.

I already warned you guys years ago what. Some bootlickers at that time still jilat, dunno if they're still alive though. Win or (mostly) lose, SA still charges their fees whistling.gif They have never stopped losing your money since they keep flip-flopping between their stock picks and locking in your losses.

Unit trust funds charged more fees, no matter you win or loss, they still charged higher fees.

You go to diy yourself, alot lesser fees.
At times you just kena education fees.

I was quite disappointed that time due to their knee-jerk reaction on KWEB incident, but I've decided to give Stashaway another chance, hoping that they'll learn from this mistake and be more cautious/emotionless with their decision.

I'm in Stashaway for close to 5 years now with an annualized ROI of 8.6% post-fee. Consistent DCA with a bit of lumpsum here and there.

I'm not sure if I can beat their performance if I were to DIY myself, and I've gotten very passive(lazy) in investing, so for now I'll still continue to use their platform.

Yeah same here. I was this close to withdrawing everything from Stashway after the entire KWEB fiasco but decided to stay put.

My portfolio is green now. No complaints.

I didnt realize he was no longer in SA until someone mentioned it, but when they introduced the lady from HK back then, I already felt maybe there was going to be a change in the organization.

Anyway, if they keep improving their service, I will still use them, despite the unfortunate KWEB event.
