I think got lorh...

Actually Jibby wanted to do like that after GE14....
Well all is history because lost in the GE....

Also tier EPF dividend also in the planning...
*
of course they can do Tier dividend...

If that happens, those rich (> 1 million) and > 55 years group can readily just withdraw their EPF.

EPF then has to sell their holdings in oversea investment or KLSE , further shrinking EPF portfolio and causing systemic effect on other companies that EPF has shares in.

The fact they are raising the voluntary contribution to 100K from 60K is to attract richer investors to park their money inside EPF. Introducing tier dividend will only cause capital flight from EPF.

I think the better way to do it is to introduce another retirement fund , separate from EPF but specifically for lower income group with strict criteria. I think someone has mooted this idea.

Maybe they research about the tier dividends thingy... Cannot make decisions yet 😂 headache & possibly interference from outside too 😏

New separate EPF is kinda good idea 👍
For those really needed them... Maybe have some insurance coverage linked contributors too... Since many too poor to have one...

If it means EPF having less AUM and can generate better alpha, judging from this thread's sentiment, I support tiered dividend now.

might as well compulsory contribution to ASNB?
how will a separate retirement fund provide higher dividend rate from the existing one?

the idea of tiered dividend is redirecting the wealth from the rich to others without funding from the government
the higher your balance in EPF is, the lower the effective dividend rate you receive

i think they don't really dare also, or they stupid enough to try.
like other said, those high roller > 1mil, those eligible to withdraw for investment, house loan, everyone will withdraw as much as possible.
end up still same amount in epf laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

edit: i think the amount in epf will be lesser in general.

Tiered dividend, with higher dividend rates on lower segments will only encourage them to lobby and request for more withdrawals once the dividends are in. In other words, the money in EPF itself will not grow.
On the other hand, those >1mil will feel relief knowing they can now take out the extra money without feeling any remorse cause its a bad investment upwards of their tier, shrinking the EPF funds drastically.

Hi guys, if i want to self contribute thru Maybank2U, do i need to fill in any KWSP forms for this purpose?

Once i start self contribute, do i have to contribute every month or as and when i like?

and last question, the self contribution amount will it be reflected in the KWSP statement on the online portal?

Thanks in advance. notworthy.gif

1) yes, no form needed if through internet banking

2) not mandatory. it's voluntary for a reason biggrin.gif

3) yes, but not real-time. may take few days to be updated.

add-on: if using iAkaun mobile app, it can show you the "balance" of voluntary contribution quota https://www.kwsp.gov.my/en/web/guest/volunt...asked-questions

Just to add... not just your amount will be reflected, but also each contribution is a line item in your statement with the amount and date and labelled self contribution, just like your bank statement.
