QUOTE(virtualgay @ Nov 11 2025, 11:17 AM) for malaysian who is a PR if they give up their PR status can they take out all the money? just curious how PR works when come to their CPF apparently must take out... no option. CPF even send you a SGD cheque.... making it seems like CPF is great benefit and only Citizen/PR can enjoy.

There is one medical one will be stuck there. Now without PR, CPF also give you the timeline to close the account and transfer the money out. Edit: Seems like can. Not too long ago, SG side asking Malaysians to close their CPF accounts and take back their money, as they are no longer working in SG. They dont want to pay interest to these members. Singapore wants to streamline and focus on citizens and PRs. Meanwhile Malaysia mandatory EPF contributions for non citizens https://www.kwsp.gov.my/en/employer/respons...tizen-employees

QUOTE(bombacat @ Nov 11 2025, 11:27 AM) And you still can - anyone who is not happy about the cap can still withdraw any excess or opt out of the voluntary contribution now. But that is what EPF is trying to stop, people who think they can withdraw EPF and invest in crypto to make millions just to get burned by some scam. “Gold” is another area where people withdraw their epf to buy. Unfortunately the gold that is promoted is overpriced. Not quite a scam. But the premium is 30% and no guarantee for purity or weight. This is prevalent in the Malay community. Anyone receive their RM500 I-Saraan yet? I banked in RM4k in June, now already end of year still not yet received.
LHDN tax relief for FY 2025 still also not released on hasil.gov.my. Last year only 17 December only published. Why so delay?

Found the info:
Drivers will be registered as EPF members through platform providers, who will facilitate contribution deductions at rates determined by the drivers themselves.
Expanding EPF Coverage Through i-Saraan Plus A new scheme known as i-Saraan Plus will be launched under the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to help gig, e-hailing, and p-hailing workers save for retirement. Through this scheme, contributors will receive matching government contributions of up to RM600 per year, capped at RM6,000 over a lifetime.
The existing i-Saraan programme will continue, offering matching contributions of up to RM500 per year, capped at RM5,000 over a lifetime, for informal workers such as small traders, freelancers, and self-employed individuals.

PSA before year end. There is another category of tax relief "epf voluntary contribution / life insurance category of RM3000.00" that can be claimed.
For those reluctant to contribute extra to epf, you may do so by withdrawing from Account 3 and recontributing it. Have not try it but believe it can work.
