price of the current plan...is way cheaper last yrs and previously..

i have registered online for 60gb plan...now wait TM called me and hope they allowed me to sign up tis package...
*
Why not? So long you have the port. But why RM 79 for UniFi 30Mbps with 60GB while you can get more with Maxis Fibre with just additional RM 10?

Normally will still working, unless if the unifi exchange center also no power then confirm no network.
I try it few years ago, it will work.

Yes. For my case, I always connect my modem, router and pc to UPS. So once blackout, Unifi still can be accessed from my pc. But it depends on the length of time that the UPS battery can support.

I use a DIY powerbank (4x18650 batteries) which has usual USB 5V as well as 12V output for my router and BTU.

You can also use those car jump start powerbank. Most of them have 12V output.

Hi, I bought a TP-Link Deco M4 (2 tubes router for mesh network) to replace my old Dlink WBR2300 router from Unifi.

Having trouble setting it up.

I downloaded the Deco app on my mobile, and used it to setup the router, but whenever I reach the step to input the settings for my ISP there is a problem.

I have the correct pppoe username@unifi and password (called 100 to confirm), set VLAN to Unifi, but always no internet connection through the router.

The router's LED will then turn solid red and I can't set it anymore. Need to use a pin to poke the reset hole.

Already tried setting up/resetting several times but the same thing keeps happening!

Also want to ask, the router only has 2 ports, so I cannot connect it to modem, PC and HyppTV at the same time, did I get the wrong router?
It also seems to NOT support HyppTV at the moment from what I read, though firmware update may enable it in the future.

My modem is the Huawei HG8240w from TM, is there a compatibility issue?

Note that the TM ports and Maxis ports are virtually separate. TM’s may be all full and Maxis all empty but you apply for UniFi, you’ll still get “no ports available”. There may be exceptions where they use a shared pool of ports.

got told same no ports available by maxis too. monopoly working well. hopefully that TNB pilot gets expanded and deployed soonish.

if that's the case (which it probably is), why can't TM just tell me outright that the port was taken? and not keep going in circles about coverage, we're looking to expand our infrastructure, and all that bull.
*
Maxis and TM have separate ports availability, so that is probably why.

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Mar 11 2019, 09:44 PM)
Did not buy the router.. I said I will buy my own router.. anyhow did a hard reset, update my firmware and got it to 300+Mbps on wifi. Haven't try ethernet yet as there is routing restriction on my company laptop

Good to hear that. You can save some money.

QUOTE(RicoT @ Mar 11 2019, 09:58 PM)
I have been waiting for Unifi to Turbo upgrade my speed for VIP10 10Mbps to 100Mbps, check online at Unify.my says it was supposed to be done October - December 2018, a check with the TM live chat agent says it is Phase 2 Feb/Mar 2019. Now still 10Mbps...

Now they imposed a 90GB Monthly Download Volume which was previously not there.

What should I do? Should I sign for the RM129 package? The live chat agent says I won't be getting a new router if I sign the package, and no warranty will be given if it fails. Only given to new subscribers only...  confused.gif  huh.gif
*
Just sign up for the new plan, and get your OWN router. It will be better for you. Screw TM's router.

You should have got the M5. They just recently added support for HyppTV. My bad, the router only has 2 ports, which is auto LAN/WAN sensing? That is just sad. You should have got something like the Tenda AC18, or TP-Link A6 or even A7.

Try disable your IPv6?
TM IPv6 routing is very bad only can get good routing from Facebook/Google sometimes...
Most of the time 95% of TM ipv6 connection will get shit routing and latency than ipv4.

Thanks for the reply.

Managed to get it working. The Android version of the TP-Link Deco app has problems! I borrowed my mum's Apple phone and downloaded the iOS Deco app, managed to get it working instantly.

My budget is around 300~400.
The shopkeeper recommended this to me because I stay in a 2 storey house, he said it would give better Wifi connectivity throughout, and it fit my budget
My connection is 500mbps so he didn't recommened the TP-Link A6 because it is for up to 300mbps only.

Which router would you recommend I change to for 500mbps? I will go to the store tomorrow and try to change this for a different router.

For HyppTV, if I am stuck with this router (only 2 ports), can I use the Set-top Box's Wifi to access HyppTV?

For Windows
https://medium.com/@JockDaRock/disabling-ip...10-5fad010bca75

For Router
U need to login to the admin management panel of the router and try to find the setting for ipv6.
It should be an On or Off button to choose and save it.

based on feedback fr two dealer, if the fiber capacity can provide above 30mbps,. only TM can process the application iwish to have take lower plan instead of 100mbps package.

hesitate to take maxis plan due to bad feedback on forum and also maxis need to rely on TM..if problem in fiber breakdown.

furthermore my Mobile got 100gb data. can open as hotspots if needed

Apart from Unifi fibre broadband, in comparison to Maxis Fibre Broadband vs Celcom MiFi (using SIM card locked to specific registrated location, correct me if I'm wrong), what is your opinion ?

May be some will oppose these comparison.

Maxis DTTH rely on TM infras., problem may arise here and there sometime.

ConnectMe satellite Broadband, too costly.
