Hi, I am on 500Mbps (RM179 +st) and 300Mbps (Rm169+st) Unifi plan recently.. As my home equipment archer c5 and old route rcan support roughly to 100Mbps, i find it is very wasted to pay so much but under utlised.

Both of my lines have finished serving their contract, I would like to change to RM129 package. The other line is my parents and they would like to add on for unlimited free land line calls and the tvbox, i heard you can add RM10 for each of these service but i couldn't find them online.

I would like to retain my current router, should i terminate my current plan and reapply? or should i just change my plan by dealing through their customer service.

Should give a though on Maxis too i guess

Probably. But, better to get your own. What is your budget? Read 1st page, 1st post, green text, for router recommendations.

Just need extra router as ap extender. Dont think it matters

Your package RM129 already include the TV pack. No way you can subscribe UniFi without any TV pack.

Price shown is unbundled.

Walked in into TMPOINT center, i told CS that I want to downgrade to 100Mbps Package.
I wanted to maintain the free call (new plan has 600 minutes of free call, should be enough for my parents usage)
I wanted to main the STB for hyppTv usage, CS told me once you downgrade to newer package you cannot view your STB anymore.

Therefore it seems that I am left with no option now but to maintain my package.

for the sake of others, can u do a summary of yr case...

is it..?

.. u were on 800mbps, out of contract?
.. downgraded to 100mbps, 2 yr contract, rm129, std20?
.. modem still working, no replacement?
.. router no replacement, no new warranty?
.. continue to use existing STB but no new warranty?
*
500Mbps out of contracted, RM179
wanted to downgrade to a cheaper package (everything is still working)

Router not really an issue actually, i hope they replace my old router for free if i downgrade (new contract?)
continue to use current STB (CS claim that the new Unifi line would not support the STB anymore)

What's so confusing? RM 129 for 500Mbps+Ruby+Aneka+STD20. Almost all seasoned users here know my plan.
I think only you are confused and not "people". smile.gif

Do you mean it's possible to unbundle the ruby pack?

I am wondering which modem / router they provide for new subscriber?

updates: I did a call to TM (100) number,
When you downgrade you will still get STD20 call + hypp tv (ruby package) using your existing STB, the Tmpoint staff apparently gave me wrong info.

Live chatted, not possible to unbundle my ruby pack. Only way to save money is to downgrade to 100Mbps

Lodge a report to unifi regarding not getting my Turboed 500Mbps package.
Technician came over to check.. using my tp link c5v2 router 270Mbps, using his TP Link AC1200 router can get 500Mbps.

To my surprised I am required to purchase that router for about RM200 + RM53 (installation charges). Anyone facing similar scenario before?

Should be able to support. I hope you did not pay? You can top up a bit and get the Tenda AC18 already.
Someone took your port space. You terminated, and someone who is on the waitlist for an available port probably took it.

Did not buy the router.. I said I will buy my own router.. anyhow did a hard reset, update my firmware and got it to 300+Mbps on wifi. Haven't try ethernet yet as there is routing restriction on my company laptop

Hi, do you realise that Unifi equipment takes up too many power sockets? BTU + Phone + router is already 3 slots.. Is there any tips on decluttering these power adapters?

what other router you recommend for 300Mbps and 500Mbps respectively? Mikrotik or Ubiquiti? budget around RM500

Prefer a router with stellar wireless performances

Refer to first post of this thread.

Stellar Wifi performance, you mean fast Wifi at every corner of the house?
*
Fast and wide kinda difficult, 5ghz is fast but less coverage
2ghz is wide but slower..

I bought Mikrotik HP AC2, the 2.4ghz seems not stable at all..

I am using the same router, no prob with 2.4hz have you try other devices having same issue?

5hz good for devices 1 wall/concrete away, anything with 2 or more wall/concrete performance will drop and switch to 2.4hz

If all else failed, You can try Ubiquiti AP, read is good.

yeah i got recommended too, i plan to add another wireless AP upstairs.. but i need to do the backhaul wiring first.

Soon Wai did a review here Seems like the newer lower end router outperformed the HAP AC

Wait, you have hAP AC or hAP AC2? If hAP AC2, off the WiFi and just use it as a router. It’s a god router for that price. I threw everything at it, VLANs, queues, dual wan, etc and it handles 800Mbps with no sweat. In fact, it will route 800Mbps with Fasttrack(CTF/NAT acceleration) off.

that's what i got https://mikrotik.com/product/RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT, not ac2

Am thinking to get separate wireless ap and use this merely for routing
