Hi everyone,

I just want to ask if you are NOT skiing, can you ride the chairlift up to the peak? (Referring to the ski resorts at Hakuba Valley, Shiga Kogen, and Ryuoo Ski Resort at Yudanaka).

Can you ride the chairlift up there, snap photos, then ride down later without skiing?

1 temple on top of mountain, 1 castle, 1 garden

Yeah.

Meanwhile do consider getting kansai pass (1 day) for the himeji day trip, cheaper than standard train fare

Hi, planning the trip to Hokkaido next year February to visit the snow festival.
Day 1: shinkasen from Tokyo to Hakodate, overnight in Hakodate
Day 2: depart to Noboribetsu and Lake toya, overnight in Noboribetsu
day 3 - Day 4: Visit Snow Festival in Sapporo
Day 5: Travel to Lake Shikaribetsu, visit ice village and stay over night in Lakeside
Day 6: visit Furano, ningle terrace/ski, overnight in Furano
Day 7 - 8: visit Otaru/Sapporo
Day 9: back to Sapporo and catch the flight back KL next morning.

Is the itinerary sound viable via public transport (bus and train)? is the itinerary too rush?

Thanks!!!

Two more weeks to Japan trip and I'm down with fever now. bangwall.gif Well, at least now and not when I'm in Japan. laugh.gif

Good thing is I managed to change my hotel in Nagasaki to APA Hotel which is just opposite of JR Nagasaki. The one I booked earlier required me to take tram and I feel it's difficult to do it with our luggage. I wanted to book our accommodation near to the station but I couldn't get anything that time, all were fully booked. Probably there were people cancelled their rooms and I managed to do it now. Though it's slightly more expensive (additional RM 80 for two nights) and could be smaller than the previous hotel but convenience is far more important. We have to catch early train to Yufu. laugh.gif

Medicine is not something I will take risk as I cannot simply take medicine and I may have allergy then it's worse. Better stick to something which I'm familiar with from Malaysia. laugh.gif

i've never seen anyone who go japan and not buy medicine
it's publicly available and better than our local meds

this is what most people buy for fever

I'm one of them. icon_rolleyes.gif I know about this, I did help my friend to buy this in my last trip.
I have medicine allergy so doctors won't advise me to simply consume medicine without prescription from them. After all, my medical fees all paid by company, so no need to waste money to buy medicine on my own. laugh.gif

Hmm, I didn't buy any medicine in Japan either. icon_rolleyes.gif

The only time I stepped into a pharmacy there was to buy a shoe pad for my wife's aching feet. laugh.gif

Load up with medicine and Vitamin Cs and you should able get well in 2 weeks no problem. Anyways, is not like people stop travelling when they are sick. On my flight back, I had a person behind constantly coughing and sneezing all 7 hrs at back until I can feel his breath at my head. Haha! lucky I didn't catch anything from him.

Ohh so you got APA Hotel. That's just a stone throw away from my AirBNB just beside Hotel Coure. Haha! Good choice as catching the trams, buses, & JR train is super convenient. Plus you can easy to buy the passes and tickets at Info Counter.
