The Yen is going up quite steeply nowadays and this is not helping too. sweat.gif

it's so near to the RM4 = 100yen point that is back when i traveled to tokyo that it doesn't make any different
but lucky all my yen are changed around the 3.6~3.8 range

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Sep 11 2019, 12:24 PM)
Some have planned long ago so can't avoid it. Like me, I'm supposed to arrive there smack right on 1st day of tax hike so you can see how I feel, but what to do. Japan is an expensive country to go to anyway regardless of tax hike or currency inflation or Olympics, so just need to make sure got budget enough for visit, travel in comfort, not being too calculative, and extras for contingencies.

i arrived on the 3rd day of GST hike
but all my yen are changed between 3.6~3.8 range

Not the same. 6% in a relatively affordable country is not same as 10% in a super expensive country. sweat.gif

Because we are not going to visit the atomic bomb place and Peace Park. Not a fan to see this kind of things. laugh.gif
That's day 2 ma. Day 1 will visit 4 places and the million dollar view. laugh.gif

TBH honest i a bit regret visiting the atomic bomb museum. i got mixed feeling inside. not sure want to pity them or what. it was due to my late grandma who survived the WW2 japan invasion period in malaysia and keep telling me how suffering the family during that time.

The million dollar view is Mount Inasa ah?

Got any suggestions for Nagasaki specific souvenirs? One that I can go get in the city itself (hopefully not too expensive, haha)? My trip is mainly sightseeing but having something unique is my cherished memory.

2% increase bring billion of yen extra for Japan Military expansion. Japan are building new carrier for F35 jets

Japan last year parliment already over write Military law which is Self defense. Now Japan military can step out from Japan if other country needed Japan Military.

To easy understand, When US attk North Korea or China, Japan can be part of US alliance.

"2% increase bring billion of yen extra for Japan Military expansion."
Haha. No comment on that.

The Castella is that sponge cake right? That's on my to-eat-list there, haha. Not sure if it can withstand the rough tumble in a luggage back home. Umm, anything other than food? Some kinda handicraft perhaps? notworthy.gif Thanks.
