3 generations of hyyptv STB


TM didnt give proper training to thier technicians on how to STB so the TM technicians spend almost 3 hours to setup my new STB.
The new STB require Google Account to get the access to playstore to update the Unifi app.

At 1st the STB didnt recognize my hypptv account and asked to subscribe to hypptv.

after few call to TM center they found that apparently my account not migrated yet and they try to migrate my account but failed.

A few call later, they said that they need to change my setup box to the white color 1st and then only they can migrate my account

after change to the white box, i need to wait for emial/sms for the hypptv anywhare new password.



for those that have install the new STB, how's your experience?

There are two more STBs... One that looks like the bottom one but has a LED screen instead of three LEDs and another one is the big old STB that doesn't run on Android.

Edit: looks like these two are the same thing in different casing and both not running Android

Need to see if this unifi plus STB supports IR and also whether it can still receive channel number input.the current Huawei works well with my Harmony 665

but like suspected, need migration in order to use new box, new app since there is new password.

there is now some question brewing.... once u migrate, will u still be able to use the old silver or white box lan4, higher bit rate, better quality?
or u must use the APP which appears to be lower quality, i.e. same crap like the playtv app we know.

From my understanding based on limited information available, the new STB is using playTV account. Based on FAQ, old STB can still be used after installing new STB. The account migration is because there are now two different playTV systems, the old one with 2.8Mbps and hardcoded Malay subtitiles and new one with 4.8Mbps and switchable subtitiles. Seems the new STB requires account that can use with the new playTV app. My playTV account has been migrated and I can use the new playTV phone app using same old playTV ID and password. Can't test the new Android TV app as it still refuses to let me use on my TV.

Still need users of new STB to check if it is indeed using the same stream as the new playTV app like how STB on Streamyx used to use same stream as old playTV app. Also need to know if there are any 4K channels.

both STB are using 2 different login credential,
the new STB require "hypptv anywhere"while the old STB are using the hypptv

Ah, that's what I thought after reading FAQ and looking at new Android TV app. So new STB same account as playTV and nothing to do with old STB account.

I just keep trying to sign in the new playTV app on phone. One day suddenly it works. Then I try sign in old app there's a popup that tells me about the new app. Since then I've only used the new app and have uninstalled the old app so I don't know if old one still continue to work or not.

Tested on shield 2017 and this works!

nope.. not working on 1st and 2nd gen using original 1.1.4, exported apk from unifitv installed in AndroidTV..
