I suggest a Mikrotik RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN. The product model alone makes it sound so impressive.
*
Routing and flexibility wise no doubt this Mikrotik will demolish the Asus. But I wouldn't recommend something like this to normal consumers. laugh.gif

But WiFi wise, I am pretty confident the Asus would be quite a lot faster. QCA9984 is kinda old at this point.

I still love the fact that Mikrotik publish routing test results for their equipments.

Identical to Archer C7 except for flash layout according to wikidevi. I'd say good deal since it's RM100 cheaper than C7. ohh C7 has dropped to RM325, still cheaper with A7.

to sweeten the deal, can get 18% Shopee coins cash back with voucher code 18OSPS28.

Sounds like hardware issue. Did you check the DHCP server in the router? Sounds like the DHCP server has failed.
Yes, it is good, at least it is free.
*
Also believe the same thing.. Dhcp server seems not running... Although enabled in setting

Just chat with Live chat... Usual restart the router.. Last step, they sent a technician here.. Let see later what goes wrong

Also I notice tr ip address is not there in main configuration page of router.. I believe there is some ip address there before... Related?

Hi All

Just need your advice. Currently I live in a condo at Jalan Ipoh, KL. My speed is 50 mbps. I am just getting around 30 to 40. Paying RM179 per month. Not sure when they going to upgrade and since it is a high rise building. Feel wasting my money just waiting. Not sure how soon it is going to be.

I thought reducing the speed to 30 at a price of RM79 and then subscribe to TIME (they have fiber recently installed) 100 mbps @ RM99. Total will be around RM180.

I don't need hypp tv.

a) Has anyone staying in a high rise residential got turboed already?
b) Is time service good?

Would appreciate your advice

Err..say what now? Subbing 2 different ISPs for what? Just sub to TIME's 500Mbps plan for RM139. More than enough.. What are you waiting for? I just did the switch.. Was in similar or worse boat than yours. 30Mbps max speed. Terminated and transferred to another forummer. TIME is so far so good. Want to know more about the service? This is the wrong thread. Go read up the dedicated thread.

TM gives me better international speeds. I get better speeds to US than local servers, weird eh, faster speed test to private servers than TM's own internal servers.

TIME cant give me the same speed and bandwidth, and players of my game server were complaining about lag up to 1s, thats throttling to the max, granted it wasnt my internet/place, i was working there and they wouldnt conform to even basic security standards i had to bring my own router in. But the throttling is real for international traffic for time. TIME is excellent if your needs are mainly local in content. Youtube, google, facebook, all the big content providers have servers in malaysia and SG with their SEA hub in Sg (if only malaysia had accepted their projects but they cared more about TV then internet cry.gif )

TM has their plus in their service, what they're bad about are local infrastructures, policies and pricing. With TIME, players could only download at less than 1Mb/s from me per person, thats throttling to the max and usually uploads should be encouraged and not throttled because its the other ISP who pays for it.

When it comes to picking, i would take maxis or TIME over TM any day because even though TM offers the best service, their treatment is terrible but my family are die hard TM fans who work in TM and cant even help me with any issues.

Its not a simple of which one to pick, if i had TIME i would take 1Gb/s because my router will do 10Gb/s symmetrical internet with NAT, firewall and QoS without using any hardware acceleration and i do have a use case for it as well, i do upload loads, its nice to have your own file and media server connected to LAN via 10Gb/s with a large raid array and can watch stuff wherever you are around the world without worrying about copyright tongue.gif . Plus i can work on files, using my router as VPN server and safely store files without having to store them on the machine im using. Phones also have limited storage too.

Upload more malaysia, get the speeds symmetrical and make internet better (and cheaper)

TLDR.. I wouldn't take Maxis even when they called and offered.. So sticking with TIME.. TM was really good while it lasted. In almost a decade of using TM strictly, I can honestly say down times would probably be around 2 or 3 times a year, if at all. Don't remember experiencing any downtime last year even. If only they came to upgrade the infra at my place, I'd still stick with them despite other competitors. But alas, they've refused. So I've got to do what's right by me. Continue paying RM139 for 30Mbps and Hypptv I rarely use or the same amount and get 500Mbps without the Hypptv or bumped up to 1Gbps for slightly more. I'm no hard-core gamer. Don't own any consoles or installed pc games.. None.. So gaming performance is irrelevant to me. But I guess if I did game then I might be affected like you. I mainly telecommute, video conferencing over encrypted connection with multiple users spread across the world, home made "NAS" (no large RAID array yet sweat.gif) VPNs and media content consumption. And TIME ticks all these boxes for me so far. Even last night, a couple areas went down but mine still stayed up. Similarly with when folks comment about their TM connection being down.. My side isn't affected. So guess I'm in a good area then.. thumbup.gif

Okay okay... Sorry folks for derailing somewhat.. Let's get back to TM praising and bashing.. laugh.gif

Now thinking of RT-AC86U instead as it's newer and claimed to have better wireless penetration! Anyone would support this claim?

It is but the top of the line in terms of wireless penetration is of course the GT-AC5300.

I have yet to compare the RT-AX88U.
