The 2nd and 3rd Deco unit can communicate with the main Deco unit wirelessly (thus extending the Wifi network)  BUT they work better and most importantly, FASTER if they're all connected via an ethernet backhaul.
*
If I connect the 2nd and 3rd units via ethernet, does that mean that I’ve to manually switch to the appropriate (nearest) SSID whenever I move or it also works seamlessly by switching itself (aka, only one single SSID)?

No need. Wifi switching/roaming all done by your your device. Normally works fine except sometimes it's still connected to your previous AP, or change to 2.4GHz even when you're previously connected to 5GHz band.

They will wait until the area has enough demand only will install new port. Try to ask Maxis as well, if they can get port for you then go for it.

Yeah, i've contacted maxis fibre, and they say that it is available on my area.... Will switch to maxis then x.x

Yay, upgraded to UniFi 800mpbs 2 weeks ago, initially suspected that my infra have problems (using tplink AV2 1200mpbs only get 150mpbs speed...)

After further testing, found out that the problem lies on either the BTU / Router side as direct cat6a AMP cable from C1200 to my laptop only can achieve 150mpbs max... (WiFi AC with mate 10 supports up to 867, but still same speeds)

Contacted UniFi , and after further testings, results are as below... (All direct cable)
old btu + c1200 = 150mpbs
old btu + dlink 842 = 200mpbs
new btu + c1200 = 150mpbs
new btu + 842 = 800mpbs <---zzzzz

WiFi not tested as I do not have any specific equipment that supports 3x3 mimo / TM don't give 3x3 mimo that runs up to 800mpbs~ vmad.gif

So btu has been changed without any costs and contract, but i decided to do my own research instead of extending another two years contract and get their shitty routers that can only lasts for a year... and sadly after reading this post... it seems that c1200 v1 sucks balls LOL

See 1st page, 1st post, green text, for list of routers that support 800Mbps, and get that. Your Internet experience will be much better.

Ok noted!!! Yes Yes~ I Will change my equipment eventually once bonus comes in~ Just ranting about the C1200 v1 that TM gives... where it only lasts for a year despite it's specs looks great, but... oh well happy.gif

My turbospeed is 500 mbps, now thinking to buy router either TP-Link Archer C7 or C9. Any significant different between these 2 models to achieve 500 mbps?

AC86U?
Go to Advanced ---> LAN ---> Switch Control. Check if the NAT Acceleration is set to Auto and the yellow wording next to it is displaying "CTF (Cut Through Forwarding) is enabled".

I3-8100 with Win10 1809*?
K, install this http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Se....aspx?q=4465065
2018-10 Update for Windows Server 2019 (1809) for x64-based Systems (KB4465065)
Cause WIN10 has tendency to automatically re-enabled spectre + meltdown mitigations after "windows update" dry.gif
So, installing the optimized/latest microcode is a better solution. KB4465065 has to be installed manually!
Reboot required.

After that....test again.....via wired....

I can't find the CTF...

after installing KB4465065...speed only improved slightly

I did enquiry ASUS before, being told that NAT acceleration is auto enabled. Make sure QoS is off.

hmm.gif
Maybe AC86U supports different form of NAT Acceleration as SzeMeng76 said?

Any weird antivirus or firewall?
Can you get 500Mbps when running I3-8100 via wired in safe mode?

Also, please check your CPU temperature and CPU clock rate during the speedtest. There are few people with improper cpu cooling....(eg, 5 years never clean the fan+heatsink+repaste, broken CPU fan pins resulted in 'suboptimal' contact between cpu and cooler, improper installation of cpu cooler resulting in loose contact)

Then, there are cases where few people had wrong max cpu multipliers configured...... doh.gif

Get the C9. No significant difference but C9 is better. Make sure it is v5. Otherwise, just top up and get the C2300.

Thank you for your opinion. I read some good reviews of D-Link Dir-867, any better of this router compared to C9 TP-Link? My budget around RM 400++
