In the schedule of the National Fiberization & Connectivity Plan (NFCP), copper will be completely phased out only from 2025.
Meanwhile, Unifi VDSL users and even ADSL (Streamyx) users in areas not yet covered by Fiber will be also victimized, paying so much more for slower speeds.
I was one such Unifi VDSL user stuck with 30Mbps but paying the same price as 300Mbps Turbo Upgrade users. Not only TM does not offer a reduced pricing plan while awaiting the copper phase out, they just kept quiet and continue charging the same price.
Then I gave up waiting & switched to Time Fibre (RM139 for 500Mbps), and when I received a call from TM after I submitted my Request for Termination, the guy on the phone asked why, so I told him the reason & that I switched to Time, he asked if I have already installed. Because I have already installed, he say then is ok & proceed to tell me the procedure for termination.
So it looks like, they will only offer you the hidden packages for VDSL users if you Requested for Termination, OR like some forumers here, went to TMpoint to argue for it!
Why can't they switch VDSL users to the lower package automatically, giving them the option to upgrade to the Turbo Speed at a new price when it's available?
From the way TM is doing things, they will continue to lose customers!
wanna try play chicken with TM submit termination request. is it done via unifi portal ?
