Both nope. It is impossible to reach 500Mbps with those two.

For asus usb-ac68:
https://www.digitalcitizen.life/reviewing-a...pter-looks-bird
This reviewer is using ASUS RT-AC88U router

See for yourself.

the reviewer didn't mention how much wifi speed he is getting on ac68 wifi adapter...or maybe i missed out ?

ac68 specs on 5Ghz theoretically should be able to reach 1300Mbps right ?

Guys. Is it true that if I got turbo already, I cannot switch to the rm129 100mbps anymore??
*
QUOTE(sHawTY @ Nov 13 2018, 01:22 PM)
No. Who said that?
You can downgrade at anytime

The only downside is if you downgrade to UniFi 100 @ RM129, you will not get the Turbo upgrade anymore

And with contract refresh again for 24 months.

that is theoratically. in pratical connection speed will be halved. and so does your speed test will halved.

say 1300mbps == 866 mbps, or 866mbps === 433mbps.

so for speed test 500mbps. depending on your connection speed. speed test result will also fluctuate.

unless you connect your wifi adapter next to the router then maybe can get full speed.

then there is no point using wifi adapter for very close range to router just use cat6 lan cable easier. lol.

the whole point of wifi is mobility and where lan cable cant reach your pc.

but by reality, most of us use wifi adapter because we cant use lan cable. but for wifi 5ghz. dont expect too much where the location of your wifi adapter from the router greatly impact the speed result.

I've received a sms from Unifi.

It mentioned that "my unifi will be upgraded to TURBO by Dec 2018 at no additional charges. Please update your email at unifi.com.my"

What I do have to update? my current email address? If it's my primary email do I still have to change it?

I doubt they’ll do that. Those that have been turbo’ed are either using existing or self upgraded hardware.

If you're a recent Unifi sub then you shouldn't need a new BTU or router. When the time comes TM will ring you to make an appointment for the technician to come around to set the system and troubleshoot as needed.
TM isn't going to give you new equipment if existing hardware is up to the job.

QUOTE(poque @ Nov 13 2018, 10:15 AM)
Just sharing my experience downgrade my unifi from 500 mbps to 100 mbps earlier..

I received turboed somewhere in Sept 2018 from 50 to 500mbps but unfortunately I unable to enjoy the speed given due to my own devices (max 50 mbps for 2.4g wifi / max 150 for 5g wifi / 350 for wired connection). Already ask the technician for ground assistance which they told me the speed is based on what have been promised (500mbps on wired and 300++ on wifi)

Thus, since my own devices are not capable to get the speed more than 100mbps, i decided to downgrade to 100mbps and need to tie another 2 years contract. after few days they send notification to off my router and enjoy the new speed. Surprisingly, when use wifi i can get 75++ mbps through 2.4ghz + 100mbps 5ghz. better than 500mbps earlier.

and also during submited the downgrade form in tmpoint, i saw lot of unifi subcribers terminated their account..i feel sorry for tm but i asked the staff why so many terminated like pasar malam meh, the staff told me only here they can terminate the account..haha tm make things difficult for those want to terminate unifi acc.
*
About the termination it was a hassle.i have to go to three different tmpoints before I can terminate. Then today went to tmpoint taman desa and saw this notice say can terminate at any tmpoint 15 Nov onwards.

They only guarantee best wired speed, not wireless. Get your own router and if you want good speed on wireless, you will have to pay for it.

They wont come 2 your house at all, unless u request 4 it. U wont get new device for free, they either ask u pay 1 time setup fee rm53+rm2xx for the router or agree 2 be locked 4 another 2 years.

Or in my case, read this.

Nope. Change it yourself. BTU, probably. Router, most probably NO. See 1st page, 1st post, green text for list of compatible routers and BTU.
