the reviewer didn't mention how much wifi speed he is getting on ac68 wifi adapter...or maybe i missed out ?

ac68 specs on 5Ghz theoretically should be able to reach 1300Mbps right ?

They wont come 2 your house at all, unless u request 4 it. U wont get new device for free, they either ask u pay 1 time setup fee rm53+rm2xx for the router or agree 2 be locked 4 another  2 years.

Or in my case, read this.

Nope. Change it yourself. BTU, probably. Router, most probably NO. See 1st page, 1st post, green text for list of compatible routers and BTU.

I guess I'm the only one quite happy using TM's routers. Currently using 1 TP-Link C1200 at ground floor and 2 D-Link DIR-850L to cover first floor. All wired via in-wall LAN cables. Only spent RM 180 for the D-Links (second hand) and CAT5E wall plates/cables/wire stripper. 300++ mbps Wifi is fast enough for me.

Hi, we'll be moving into a new house where the previous owner had cat5e cabling in all rooms / living areas. All these terminate in a store room where he previously put his streamyx modem & a router (I was told by the agent). Your situation sounds similar smile.gif

I would like to install unifi 100mbps plan when I move in. I like the idea of wired connection for computers & was wondering if the cabling can still be used, what additional equipment I need to instal (on top of the stock unifi btu and router) and where to put the various boxes & connections between them.

For example, can I have the BTU and the router in the storeroom and plug in Androx TV box / hotspot modems to wall sockets elsewhere in the house?

Wonder if you can icon_question.gif explain. TIA

PS: I found your earlier post in V35. Looks nice biggrin.gif What's that TP-Link SG108E between the BTU and router for?

You can, if he have Cat 5e cabling in all rooms and living areas. You don't need additional equipment, but probably want a good decent router that have good hardware. The TP-Link SG108E is a switch, and its purpose is just to provide additional LAN ports.

I've received a sms from Unifi.

It mentioned that "my unifi will be upgraded to TURBO by Dec 2018 at no additional charges. Please update your email at unifi.com.my"

What I do have to update? my current email address? If it's my primary email do I still have to change it?
*
have the same sms, no idea update email for what laugh.gif
billing already send to my email as well
I think they will change the BTU for me as I am using this one

I have doubts as it could be early or end of Dec. I’m still using the same BTU as well.

Call up TM asking why my speed won't reach beyond 500Mbps, they told me the way they upgrade customer's speed is by upgrading them incrementally i.e. from 100Mbps to 300Mbps, monitor the stability, upgrade to 500Mbps, monitor and then 800Mbps and monitor. Reason being according to the cs, if the line cannot sustain high speed then customer will only get the sustained speed but regardless will need to pay the same.

So, mine stuck at around 500-600-ish.

Any advice appreciated.

*Thanks to Rizvanrp for taking some time to look into my issues. Appreciated bro.

Seems like the 100 Mbps accounts are least likely to be capped for torrents.. so it's worth it to just stick to this package if you want to do bulk torrenting lol.

I easily get 10-12MB/s for torrents too for most well seeded ones. Games and anime mostly, even on public trackers.

Still relishing it over Stimix which i had a few months ago. Can finally keep super seeding ratios with this connection.

First, does your unifi.com.my display 800Mbps package?
Cause a lot of 100Mbps subscribers were turbo-upgraded to 500Mbps instead of 800Mbps.....

Second, you might have legendary microcode issue on your laptop i7-8750H over wired......

Third, not sure if it is your router NAT acceleration not working or whatever......it may be possible for ARM Cortex A9 Dual-Core 1.4Ghz to reach 500-600Mbps without CTF, but any higher will require CTF.......

Yep, turbo 800 shown in my bill and the dashboard. Microcode not present on both my desktop and laptop. As for the speed test, tested using both mikrotik Gr3 and tplink C3150v2.

ARM Cortex A9 Dual-Core 1.4Ghz?

Lucky you have built-in CAT 5E around your new home! You can get great Wifi coverage& speed with multiple cheaper APs. No need to buy 1 expensive router.

Put your BTU and router in store room, then just connect your TV box & PCs to your LAN points elsewhere. Your Wifi may suffer inside store room, so you can add additional routers configured as Wifi APs eg at living room & upstair. Then you can disable Wifi on your main router.

I'm using that SG108E for HyppTV VLAN untagging & port mirror to a Windows tablet running bandwith monitoring app. Since you don't use HyppTV STB, you can use cheaper dumb switch.
