Actually will affect anything?

Yes, it affects those applications that require port forwarding access from public to map to local private IP, like older cctvs, games, remote desktop software, custom ftp servers, web servers etc.

Hi all, I am thinking of subscribing to TIME 100Mbps through the website. Just wondering, if is it worth paying extra for getting the router upgrade from the WiFi 5 router (HG8145V5) to the WiFi 6 router (HG8145X6)?

*Sorry I am new to this, hope to understand the benefits and evaluate whether it is worth getting it upon subscribing. Thank you!
*
Hi, purchase your own router will be better.
Thanks.

I have been facing that for the past 2 weeks I think.. Tried changing dns to Cloudflare on the Huawei router (I'm 1GB plan, hence they gave me that router) but still the same as it routes back to TIME Dns somehow.

Hence, I had to disable wifi if I want to load those pics/video without lag (4G Maxis) bangwall.gif

yes
from what i found
FB & IG assigned this Cache server to me and its under TIME's network

scontent.fkul10-1.fna.fbcdn.net

and i guess this cache server is having a problem
the only way to solve this now is enable Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 WARP or Zero Trust to let Facebook assign another Cache Server to you

Great to hear that, did you just request for public IP?
Any idea if there are any extra charges?

Thanks.

Always buy your own router

TIME have full access to their router with their remote management protocol tongue.gif

Same, tunneling my entire Internet connection to SG solve this temporarily but took a bit hit from my 1Gbps speed.

Bro jjj2, i wanna ask a bit about the mesh unit, for my current TIME plan, they gimme the Huawei HG8145X6 and also one unit of the Mesh node WA8021V5
I rmb you told me before that if I use the router as main and then connect the mesh node wirelessly, the wifi speed will be reduced as it connects as a repeater.

What if I don't use the router totally and use the mesh node as router and then add another WA8021V5 node to the existing one wirelessly, will I still be getting slower speed?

Hope my question isn't too noobish sweat.gif

Hi Bro, I assume there is an ONU in front of the HG8145X6.
WA8021V5 can be 'meshed' with HG8145X6. Anyway, the performance is far more poorer vs to those Mesh Systems that you purchased outside.

What if I don't use the router totally and use the mesh node as router and then add another WA8021V5 node to the existing one wirelessly, will I still be getting slower speed?
If you get rid of the X6, it will be even worse. We have many feedbacks for more than 1 unit of WA8021V5, don't mention about the performance, stability is already an issue, frequent disconnection and tremendous speed drop.
It's best still to go for your own mesh system.

Hope my question isn't too noobish sweat.gif

Thanks for your answer bro!
May I know how can I mesh the HG8145X6 & WA8021V5 together?
Cos now I seldom turn on the WA8021V5 as it will just makes the whole network way slower like from 400mbps to 55+mbps, cos the time technician last time set it to the same WiFi SSID...
