It’s actually from the DB inside shoe cabinet to living area.

Currently my modem is at the DB and router is at living area. I think quite a lot of mid tier to high end condo are like this

Not worth the 2gbps for me. Good for those that need the download speed though. Was hoping it for below 250

any using 1gbps facing high latency recently?

Recently subscribed to TIME 500mb/s and come with 1 unit of MESH.

Current set up:
Router - Huawei OptiXstar HG8145X6
Mesh - Huawei EchoLife WA8021V5

Condo roughly about 1,800sqf but then when do speed test on 2.4GHz and 5GHz both result disappointed. Even the mesh next to my laptop but test showing max 100mbps only.

Question is:-

1. Should I upgrade the router and mesh to after market brand? What is the best model? Please suggest.
2. Why when I use LAN take from the Mesh, max only can get 80mbps?

If it cost no more than RM299 for this new 2Gbps plan, may consider. But for RM379 and 500Mbps upload, not worth it.

Can the experts here explain (or guess) why Time doesn't upgrade their upload speed? Infrastructure or hardware limitations?

TIME uses 10G PON technology from Huawei, which has been started since 2019.

For now 2gbps speed is only offered in a limited area. (Areas that currently use 10G PON technology)

Ya lo Bro... seen many condos are using low quality cables, some even joined cables....

This is to prevent future speed bog down as the asymmetric XGPON DL:UL ratio is 4:1.
Even with dynamic bandwidth allocation, it's still risky.

If you are getting 2xx--3xxMbps on 5GHz, then try to place the WA8021V5 further away (approx. 8--10m)....& test again.

Maybe a wifi 6e router? still though its not exactly realistic to expect 1gbps maxed out on your phone
