Hi,

Is your disconnection referring to wifi? or Lan?

Just a sharing from my recent case:
I subscribed to TIME 500mbps package on July'21 and my ONU-router combo model is HG8145V5. Me and my wife working from home and the wifi disconnection was almost 4-5 times per day per workstation.

Gotten some advise from LYN experts here to change the HG8145V5 to bridge mode + my own Asus router. 3 days of monitoring shows NO wifi disconnection from either workstation.

If you have your own router, might want to pursue for this route to avoid frequent disconnection.

I always had frequent disconnection last time. Then i found out that it was due to router becoming very hot . So i bought a usb fan cooler from shopee and put it under the router, then totally no more disconnection at all.

I was using the stock tplink ec230 router. Placed the cooler under the router then no more disconnection.

Now changed to tplink ax73 with the same cooler underneath. The signal strength is miles better than ec230.

Anyone received calls from Time to upgrade their 100Mbps to 300Mbps with an extra RM 10?

They are providing a Huawei WA8021V5 as a free upgrade with a 2-yr contract period.

Will the new router be a better version than the current TP Link EC230-G1?

You can upgrade if you want, but I would recommend switching to your own third-party router. Consider the new Asus AX routers.

Anyone having trouble getting Netflix to load? I'm getting error code NW-2-5. Access to the rest of the internet seems fine.
EDIT: Rebooting the ONU fixed it.

Yea, anyone more than 2 years with Time they will give this offer. But the Huawei router sucks . For me 100mbps is more than enough. Dont think worth it to sign contract 2 years

I some circumstances, YES, but not all the time.

If you are heading towards something really awesome, go for your own router & avoid 2 years tie.

Thanks.

Hi, do request from our SI during Installation to switch to Bridge Mode or by calling Customer Service at 1800 18 1818.

And then configure the PPPOE credentials on your Asus router & connect to LAN1 port of the HG8145V5 ONT.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm sorry, the ONT/ONU will be the given ones from TIME. Anyway, you may swap your own router.

Thanks.

Hi all, wanna ask, recently I renewed my contract with Time (same plan + free huawei mesh node) - why do they set an "installation appointment date and time"?

My time is already installed and running well for the past few years. What kind of installation will they be doing? Btw I dont really need the mesh node, so will just keep as spare or sth

It is because they need to install & test the mesh nodes that given to you.
