any mesh nodes user with iphone or samsung note 10/20 at home?

reason being, i upgraded my phone from samsung note 8 to samsung note 10 coz the former died. wifi connectivity was superb when i was using samsung note 8. after changing to samsung note 10, i realised the wifi connection to my phone is not that strong. e.g. when i click on a website on phone, it'll take probably 5 seconds to load as if there's no internet connection at all. at times, i'll need to refresh the website or the app. quite frustrating.

my wife is using iphone and i'm not sure why her wifi connection is not very strong.

i'm wondering if upgrading to time's latest mesh node will solve these issues. hmm.gif

Yes, my Note 8 is getting very good & consistent speed whereas my colleague's Note 10 is not getting strong signal & sometimes connection disappears.

Does this mean speed upgrade offer(example 100mbps -> 300Mbps) will not provide a new Huawei HG8145V5 router(to pair with the mesh node), instead, only mesh node Huawei WA8021V5 is given(Essential starter pack)?

Hi, will use back your existing ONU.

Got 100mbps installed today. Speed test with laptop/phone/iPad in the next room over WiFi...getting more than 100mbps comfortably! It starts around 150mbps then drops to around 105mnps at the end. Using 5ghz. Normal?

I’m very Impressed with the speed, but the reach is a bit poor...only 5mbps using 2.4ghz at the 3rd room (furthest away).

Hi guys, thinking to switch to TIME. But knowing that TIME now provide 2 in 1 modem router for 100mbps and 500mbps package. How can I know replace the router with my current ASUS RT-AX82U?

Attached Image

This is the TIME installed at my another house. Huawei HG8145V5. I got tried to login the router, the UI is rather simple and not much options there.

Appreciated that anyone can provide guide/link to setup with own router.

You can contact CS to covert the router into bridge mode.
Then you can setup by using PPPOE.

Hi, do request from our SI during Installation to switch to Bridge Mode or by calling Customer Service at 1800 18 1818.

And then configure the PPPOE credentials on your Asus router & connect to LAN1 port of the HG8145V5 ONT.

Thanks.

Hi,

Is your disconnection referring to wifi? or Lan?

Just a sharing from my recent case:
I subscribed to TIME 500mbps package on July'21 and my ONU-router combo model is HG8145V5. Me and my wife working from home and the wifi disconnection was almost 4-5 times per day per workstation.

Gotten some advise from LYN experts here to change the HG8145V5 to bridge mode + my own Asus router. 3 days of monitoring shows NO wifi disconnection from either workstation.

If you have your own router, might want to pursue for this route to avoid frequent disconnection.

Hi,

Need some help from experience users here.

Currently I have a TIME subscription at my apartment which I'm not staying there currently due to WFH, I'm back at my hometown with my families. The subscription there is more than 2 years thus not tied to the contract.

Not sure when we will go back to office. I wanted to terminate the subscriptions, now the question is.

When I want to subscribe back, what option do I have?

From what I saw is either I take another 2 years contract, or I pay RM400 one time fee.

I was wondering, since I have the modem and router already, wouldn't RM400 a little expensive?

If you take 24-months contract base, you save RM400.
If you go for Non-Lockin contract, then you will need to pay RM400.
Pros & Cons.

A new set of equipment will be provided. The Rm400 is charged because you are not bound by contract.

Stumble upon a website called iwifi that gives Rm20 rebate monthly for a year for Times Subscription, is this a hoax? Will my contract with Times be the same as the typical ones?
