Is TIME still as reliable as its reputation from the past? Or... at least more stable than Maxis/Unifi nowadays? I've been thinking to sign up...

Despite some glitches do happen sometimes, it's still by far stand out among its competitors.

Thanks.

It's really area dependent and depends on your luck.

I have shifted twice since I used TIME and for 2 locations, I have never suffered any local outages unless it is a really huge area wide outage. The last one was few months back and that was during midnight.

Those 2 condos I stayed in are relatively new so that could be the case as well.

But generally I would vouch for TIME network to provide superior routing and consistency over TM Unifi. This is especially apparent for overseas content where TIME's routing is far ahead of TM/Maxis.

you could notice the outage window is quite significant.

when it works it works well
but it goes down unpredictably

Hi, I'm a 500mbps plan user here.. Still on the TP-LINK AC1200 router, anyone faced issues or have solutions with the router keep on rebooting suddenly few times a day? Also with this router i can't get my promised 500mbps speed , only achieve 90+ mbps with cat5e lan cable connected to my desktop.
Also another problem is the huawei modem TEL1 light keep blinking and i cannot make any calls with the home phone.

The rebooting issues can't be solved for this AC1200.
Best to change router to a better one.

For the TEL 1 kept blinking? Can't make calls?
Have you tried to restart the router.

I need to you test the speed bypassing the router, connect from computer to ONU to check the speed.
I can guide you to configure this to test the speed.

Thanks.

Do you have any example of this superior routing?

Does anyone knows their reliability around Taman Desa near Old Klang Road area?

Some older posts in this thread suggested Time went down few times around July of last years, and for at least once lasted around 1-2 days, which worrying me quite a bit. I don't need blazing fast Internet, but I do need something stable, reliable for work.

For last few years I've been mainly tethering from mobile Internet without fixed line, so I have not much clue about standard of fixed line Internet service in Malaysia nowadays.

Thx smile.gif

why your setup a little different?
my RJ11 phone line branches out directly from ONU/ONT
the router just does PPoE without VLAN tagging
as i know TIME doesn't use VLAN tagging
how come your VoIP phone line goes thru router?
which area?

Just applied Time 100Mbs from Times, its given EC230-G1 router
I found the coverage is quite weak, looking for extender

Got few question
1. Inside EC230-G1 website, its mention support easy mesh, but does this router support OneMesh?
2. looking for extender matching the router, currently focus on RE300 or RE305, anyhow having experience for it? RE300 support OneMesh as well.
3. Any better way to extend for better coverage/stability.

Hi, to address your intermitent rebooting issue, just report & replacement will be made if the router found to be faulty.
During the replacement, please request the SI to perform a speed test via Cat5e/Cat6.

Do also report the Tel1 indicator keeps on blinking issue, if your handset is placed properly, this is usually the voice settings that isnt provisioned correctly.
After you reported, the settings can be remotely provisioned, not require SI to do anything.

Thanks.

YEs it does. You can purchase another unit from TIME.

RE650 tested works well.
3. Any better way to extend for better coverage/stability.
Perhaps you could look into Mesh solutions if you have tendency to have seemless roaming.
