QUOTE(muman7 @ Oct 7 2018, 08:36 PM) Saw a lot of complaints on FB that they can't get 500Mbps with wifi It's a long way to get everyone understand.... Used to be bottleneck came from ISP but now the bottleneck comes from hardware that's normal a lot of less tech savvy people can't understand at first.... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
It will certainly cause confusion because new customer can't get what they pay for regardless bottleneck came from which site. Installer show the speed test result after installation, done deal. Customer service has to handle all the complaints later. Most users aren't tech savvy.
Existing customers should be pleased because it's still a upgrade regardless of 200Mbps (x2 speed from 100Mbps) or 500Mbps (x5 speed from 100Mbps). If they don't have the devices to fully utilities the speed, they can opt to downgrade and save some money. It will be a different case for new user who want 1Gbps and only get 800 or less.

QUOTE(David83 @ Oct 7 2018, 08:40 PM) Just now on 8TV news, certain people raged on Gobind as Screamyx users feel marginalized. Tm always tell you. No freaking PORT!!! My family using Streamyx..not able to upgrade to unifi because no port! This is the freaking excuse that TM always give.

Gigabit on WiFi is easy, just not cheap.
Time to cancel TM UniFi, weeks been bounced between TM Point, hotline, live chat and online form to upgrade to 100Mbit plan. I bet TIME will have no problem upgrading me, and building just got it installed last week.
Need to make the Ubiquiti gear sweat a little bit.

I'm curious what you guys use for the 1Gbps bandwidth? Not asking about example but the actual usage that you will fully utilize it.

Hi guys, just wanted to ask Tenda AC6 router can support 500Mbps on WiFi or not? I was upgraded to 500Mbps but can only get 90+Mbps on 5Ghz using Note 9. Wondering if it's something I need to change in settings or the router cannot support it? Will the TP-Link 1200AC which is being offered for free by TIME be able to support 500Mbps on WiFi?

I don't think it will hit those speed , even the Archer AC1200 TIME given can't hit those speed for me , highest i can get are around 200~300.

If I go with the free router upgrade the previous router is still mine right? I'm using a tm ac1200 which I converted to time with a firmware upgrade. It works great with 300mbps before but since they upgraded me to 1gbps, nothing really changes with my wireless speed.
My wired sometimes do 500mbps now but I'm curious what a ac2600 router can do.

Even if I can get that (200-300) it will be good enough. Will changing bandwidth or channel on Tenda settings be any helpful? If so, what are the optimal settings?

Nothing really most of us in the house streams data but 1gbps is future proof. We're ready for any content heavy service to come.
