If I go with the free router upgrade the previous router is still mine right? I'm using a tm ac1200 which I converted to time with a firmware upgrade. It works great with 300mbps before but since they upgraded me to 1gbps, nothing really changes with my wireless speed.

My wired sometimes do 500mbps now but I'm curious what a ac2600 router can do.

I'm curious what you guys use for the 1Gbps bandwidth?
Not asking about example but the actual usage that you will fully utilize it.

Nothing really most of us in the house streams data but 1gbps is future proof. We're ready for any content heavy service to come.

Yes you can. Just login to selfcare portal to do it.
*
Can you report that selfcare is down? It let me login but after that nothing. It just keeps on loading.

Just when I decided to upgrade my router. 😁

jjj2 any idea what is causing my connection to disconnect?

Done pppoe connection, after a while it will just hang. When i try to dial again it says password incorrect.

I have to keep resetting modem. Sometimes it work sometimes it doeant. Seem like my port is limited to 500mbps still? ( instead of 1gbps).

* got momentary reach 980mbps after that it just auto disconnect. Even succesaful login only 500mbps afterwards.
*
Power cycle, turn off both modem and router. Turn on the modem and wait until its done starting up. Once the connection light is on turn on the router.

i'm totally not agree with resetting contract.
i won't even call it downgrade...

i'm in 100Mbps.. i did not ask for upgrade to 500Mbps..
i'm not given a choice to stay in 100Mbps or upgrade to 500Mbps
now that i want to remain in 100Mbps for RM99, i have to reset my contract for another 24mths? this is not fair to me at all..
how long i've waited now counting down last few months..  ranting.gif
*
Why go back to 100mbps if you're paying the same fee or less but with 500mbps speed?

Also is there a better isp than time currently? I got upgraded to 1gbps and got the router upgrade too. I mean, I'm not getting the speed nor better service (in my exp) than time.

Nice try time. But my contract is over and im downgrading to rm99 100mbps brows.gif
*
Hmm 119rm for 500mbps with no contract or remaining contract vs 99rm 100mbps with 24 months renewal and you choose the later.

That's 20rm diff with 400mpbs bump with no renewal.

Still no luck unfortunately. I managed to snag a Cat5e cable from a friend to test against my newly bought Cat6 but same results. Still stuck on 100/100Mbps link speed.

I'm not sure if it's possible but could it be due to my mobo's LAN port being faulty?
*
How about checking your bios? Is the lan speed in auto or full?

Looks like Time has started to block some naughty sites.
Previously had no problems accessing these sites.....now they are blocked sad.gif

Change you DNS to Google or OpenDNS. They only restrict access using thier own DNS.

You want to set to Google DNS and etc?

Thanks.

Yes, my devices are on static already but I wanted to set the DNS from the router so any device will get the DNS.

Is it normal for the installer to take the router manual? I was scheduled for 2:30pm since I work early but the installer called and went to my house at 10am. When I got home he left the warranty paper and the box but no manual was left.

I see, the manual is a bit different as TIME firmare is different than the default firmware for this unit.
There is no manual based on the TIME Firmware.

If you have any questions, feel free to post it here, or email/pm me, will guide you on that.

Thanks.

Thanks! Good to know.

One more question. None of my devices are using much bandwidth and I'm thinking 1gbps is too much but I just got my dir882 router upgrade. Is there penalty if I downgrade to 500mbps plan?

My contract got renewed as well to 24 months.

Hi,

My HG8145X6 was installed today but the installer set up a different SSID and password. I also can't access the router page with the default password. The installer said the password should be the one under the router but it's not working. The weird thing is when I try to access 192.168.100.1 it only ask for the password and not a username.

So I reset the router (holding reset for 2 seconds) and I can now login to it but there's no NEW button in the WAN advance settings and I can't set ng PPPoE.

telecomadmin admitelecom is not working too

Can anyone help setting up the PPPoE?

just give a call to CS i think they can set it up remotely
if u r directly using it as AIO modem + router then u might need to reconfigure the verification for ur ONU , for my case
My area using password to verify , and the password is same with my PPPoE password
*
I called CS and they want me to setup HG8145X6 as modem/router and not use the old modem.

Before I try that, is it safe to unplug the optical cable?

Right now my old setup is old modem + DIR-882. Is HG8145X6 a good upgrade to DIR-882?

I'll like to add in my 0.02 for this too.
My ONT Authentication is the same as my PPPoE too.
The ONT Authentication field is greyed out (can't change it) but able to unhide by unchecking the checkbox beside it.

So I tried the direct the optical cable to the wifi6 and my password worked but no internet. ACS showing unregistered.

Now CS wants me to connect old modem back

Hi, please take a picture showing us the lights indicators on your X6.

Thanks.

Hi jjj2,

Thanks for the reply! Time scheduled a tech for me today to check the router. The tech also told me how to access the WAN settings so all good for now.

-------------

Anyone who to likes to tinker things in the router might have a hard time with the Huawei Wifi6 router since the default login is very limited.
