Hope it helps!

If you can do the whole pull cable+install a strong AP that might be better. I have a total of 10 devices online most times and the Deco seems to be coping pretty well. Added bonus is I can shut down my kids' internet access with a click and see what apps they're using.

TP-Link Deco can do such features?

Able to monitor which Apps or Website visited?
And switching off your kids Internet Access? Is it Parental Controls?
Got Antivirus?

Thanks.

Yes sir. Can limit what apps you allow to open, how many hours a day internet wifi is given to each device, and also antivirus and intrusion protection.
I just changed the DNS for the Deco from TIME's to Cloudflare and will monitor the performance.

Thanks for the info.

Not sure which one is better. Google or Cloudfare.
Didn't heard about Cloudfare before.

Hi,

Yes for consistency, you need a wired connection if possible pull a Cat6 over.
For some houses, powerline is bit challenging & tuning and customization need to be done to achieve high speed.

Thanks.
*
I am not using those WIFI extender kind just the ethernet kind so I don't think there are any config that can be done. Recently move my desktop to the furthest room in the house and the performance of the adapter drop another 10% doh.gif

ahh that is quite good though I do not need such feature lol

Can still go for a mesh wifi solution but connect the mesh nodes to each other using wired/LAN backhaul. Best of both worlds.

If I could easily cable my 2 deco units together, I would. Wireless backhaul is not preferred but it works well enough for me.

I don't have any power socket lying in the middle of the house so that was what stopping me from buying the deco in the first place lol

If budget contraints, go for Mi Router 3G / 4.

So far no complaints we have installed more than 400 units, coverage good for 1000--1200sq ft, more powerful then Archer C1200 in terms of penetration.

Thanks.

Hi guys, want to ask you here. Does anyone who subscribed to 1Gbps and connected via LAN cable manage to get true 1Gbps or more?

I just curious cause seems it hard to get real 1Gbps when doing speedtest.net but sometime you manage to get it... Itu pun when glitch happen like below video. Usually I will get speed like 930-950Mbps in my Mac.

Hello,

How can I get TIME to come over to a new condo (Penang). Already signed up interest. Do we need more people to signed up interest as well in the vicinity or do I need to talk it out with the management?

It is technically not possible to get 1000Mbps due to TCP overhead. Those 1000Mbps figure you see are due to inaccuracy when doing a speedtest.

TIME is not shortchanging you but this is the technology limitation we got to live with today unfortunately.

The best budget router in the market right now is the TP-Link Archer C6. Up to Gigabit speed over LAN and up to 500Mbps over WiFi.

Hi,

Latency to most Asia countries : ~ 1x -- 8xms
Latency to Europe : ~ 1xx -- 2xxms (certain parts ~3xxms)
Latency to US : ~1xxms -- 2xxms
Latency to AU : ~1xxms -- 2xxms (certain parts ~3xxms)

Large Files download, try to use download managers or servers with CDN. Please provide a few sites, we will test & let you know.

At this moment there is no quota/limit/obvious throttling yet.

You may PM me & we will do the test & come back to you.

Thanks.
