Hm... Not looking for cheapest. Budget is around 50-80. Saw Digi has that 58 bucks per month package. Thus wondering if it's better than Umobile
*
If I am not mistaken, Digi has a prepaid and Internet option whereby RM 50 per month gives you the BiGBonus of 10GB plus 3GB per day for (total of 90GB , only from 1pm-7pm) plus 2.5GB per week of Video quota.
But that's prepaid.

The Digi postpaid Rm 58 only gives you 10Gb, obviously short in comparison to Umobile's GX50 unlimited. In exchange for Unlimited calls as a compromise.

Where I am staying in Subang Jaya, the U mobile in my area...is horrible (not all area though) . And thats a major city centre.
And as what wilson1stop earlier quoted, its true that in remote areas, Umobile with alot less users, is alot faster than major city centre.

Hi guys, need your feedback on Umobile call quality.

Do you get echo / frequent dropped calls / people not able to get their calls to you even though the signal bar is full?

How is sms shortcode delivery system by Umobile (TAC from banks)?

Thinking of switching to Umobile, mainly need it for unlimited call purpose.

Call quality I have no complaint .. all great.
SMS (TAC from banks) no problem too.

Only problem is data .. slow .. if you mainly need it for unlimited call, should not be a problem.

Digi supposed better than Umobile unless ur placed is congested with a lot of user using Digi..

This my observation. Since wifey has Digi line for me to borrow and test out.

Between Digi and Umobile, I feel probably Digi has better network planning & network infrastructure than Umobile.
Hence the speed is better. But all telcos are not 100% perfect.

If Umobile needs to add an additional base station on top of their already multiple base station on 1 location vs Digi which probably has 1-2 to cover the same area as mine, what does it tell me? Poor infrastructure planning.

I dont mean to talk like a pro network engineer. Just so happen I watch a few Youtube videos on how Cellular base station works to have a better understanding.

I feel you bro. Today will be the last day with umobile, after 4years. One thing i will miss is their free data roaming.
Hoping umobile will upgrade their services soon and keep offer attractive package. I will come back one day definitely if their service has back on track.

I think their backend CS or management team deserves a 1 star rating. First they said they tried to call me several times but unreachable. I think that's BS.

At one time I got a female CS and she bloody put me on hold for the longest time. Probably used that time to avoid the next call while she make herself a cup of tea.

Then I ask for return call several times and up to today they are busy banging up their bf / gf / mak / bapak dia. (Maybe blowjob included)

No return call.

I ask them to give me a rebate but they changed their topic to slow speed connection. Clearly they are insincere about giving rebates . Fcuk them.
I'm getting ready to port out.

Just to add..Umobile users only get 2G / edge signal if they roam on Maxis network. Only good for calls but terrible for data. And even forcing on manual network selection on Maxis 3g WCDMA mode it will not work.

So dont hope on hopping on Maxis's 3g network and pay Umobile prices.

The sales department is way faster than the development of the technical department.

Bro. I am on 3g mode all the time. 3g mode you are still riding on Umobile's network. Not maxis. In fact you i have tried 3G mode onto Maxis network in Subang Jaya and it failed to lock on.
tried also in Cameron where there is zero Umobile network coverage and even that also Maxis allows 2g mode. Not 3g. Confirmed.

So really dont harap Maxis will borrow their 3g signal to Umobile. Only sedekah 2g signal to Umobile. Maxis is the landlord of the house.

Just heard from the recent interview with u mobile ceo on bfm, he claimed starting from the end of March, 3G and 4G in peninsula are fully riding on Umobile’s own network;from coming July, it will extend to cover East Malaysia.
