There are local units on Lazada but of course, ASUS MY pricing is higher but that's expected since most IT products are more expensive here.

As for the grey import routers. The hardware is the same, the firmware is the same as well. Just for the WiFi channels, China do not enable certain channels so you don't get to use them. Of course, there will be no warranty and support provided by ASUS MY.
*
Oh, so those channels cannot be enable by updating firmware? It is lock by hardware? Any idea how many channels are locked between MY & China set?

Then what about those units that are sold in SG? Will it have such issue as China units?

QUOTE(chaos32 @ Oct 26 2018, 01:36 AM)
SG prices are about the same if you have anybody to get it for you there.
I can’t remember but for me since I have family there warranty isn’t a major concern for me.
*
The price you mentioned, is it warranty by Asus SG or grey imported units from China as well?

Price is MYR SG units so warranty is local SG warranty. I remember there was a big sticker on the box about the warranty. Do a search online for price list from for example Cybermind etc and you will get a good idea what the pricing are. smile.gif

I never thought so much at the beginning, but after heard what blacktubi said about the China sets which has lesser channels, I started to worry about those units that sold in SG.

Not sure why similar hardware, similar firmware, but China sets has lesser channels compare to MY sets~

No idea about China models but don’t seem to see any difference between SG and MY units. Regardless just sharing another avenue. An email to ASUS SG could enlighten.

alright I didn't know my laptop Ethernet port only support 100Mbps omg, it is a 2016 model HP Pavilion 15 and cannot support also... Btw tested with a desktop, can get 530Mbps, though everytime is different.

Hmm it seems like I don't need 500Mbps lol because hardware cannot support also, maybe 300Mbps is enough for me..
*
Lol what router does you use?, most pc/laptop around 2005++ already support gigabit ethernet, i going to really suprised your laptop does not support gigabit ethernet try go to adapter settings and tell me your ethernet adapter name?

Dayum, you hit the motherlode of turbos mate.

Most people on the bonanza plan who subscribed in 2018 itself will never see turbo until next year at the earliest, according to the TMPoint person I spoke to when I first applied for the Unifi 30M/RM139 Bonanza Package in July 2018.

This was in fact one of the reasons why I downgraded to 100M/RM129 in September the first opportunity I got. Didn't wanna pay extra for something I wasn't sure I was gonna get.
*
My father subcribed Unifi bonaza plan on July 9 2018 and got bawang-ed(turbo-ed whistling.gif ) to 300Mbps on Octorber 17 2018 even tho website say not eligible for turbo upgrade rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

802.11a : 6,9,12,18,24,36,48,54 Mbps
802.11b : 1, 2, 5.5, 11 Mbps
802.11g : 6,9,12,18,24,36,48,54 Mbps
802.11n : up to 600 Mbps
802.11n (1024 QAM) : up to 1000 Mbps
802.11ac (1024 QAM) : up to 4333 Mbps
802.11ac : up to 3466 Mbps
802.11ax (2.4GHz) : up to 1148 Mbps
802.11ax (5GHz) : up to 4804 Mbps(*160Mhz channel wdith*)
So lets say AX 5Ghz overhead is 60% and 2.4Ghz is 65%
4X4 80Mhz AX channel wdith is around 2400Mbps that mean real life max speed going to be around 960Mbps drool.gif
2.4ghz real life max speed is going to be around 400Mbps drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif
Please note this is just a rough estimation, i still dont know 802.11AC overhead percentage is.
Edit. Asus video on testing this router max speed is 2.5-2.6Gbps, Their probably tested it on 160Mhz channel width tho.

your wifi adapter only has 2x2 antenna.

so dont expect too much from a small wifi adapter.

unless you go for usb wifi adapter with 3x3 antenna.

or 4x4

Just got turbo from VIP10 plan, 10 to 100Mbps yesterday.

I was given Aneka+ Pack and unifi playTV Plan A. Both are FOC as part of the upgrade. Do you guys get it as part of the turbo upgrade?

I requested CS to change to Ruby Pack. I gave up when I was told need to re-contract for 12 months.

Currently using TM provided router, D-Link L7-N-R2000. Speedtest shows max 50 - 60Mbps. Guess that I need to change the old router.

Anyone got turbo-ed but the speed then somehow when back to the old slower speed ?

Got an SMS during work yesterday that my unifi was turbo-ed, when home and restarted the modem & router and yes speedtest was up from 30Mbps --> 300 Mbps.

But late last night and this morning i checked again, and the speed was down to between 30-40Mbps only. Tried restarting everything again. but still same

hey i have the same experience. i have test on speedtest ookla previously right after the upgrade, server change to singapore starhub and could get 300mbps+ but checked again yesterday and it was only about 50mbps. I tested using lan cable not wifi. btw, when i used tm unifi speedtest it shows 300mbps+. So I tested using speedtest ookla and change server to Kuala Lumpur Tmnet like what tm unifi speedtest is using and it gives me 300mbps+.
