Tot the max speed achievable for CAT5 is 100Mbps but how come when using Cat5 cable from HG8240w to TPlink c1200,  can still get 200Mbps on phone-Wifi?

Things just happen, or the Cat 5 cable is actaully Cat 5e.

My story this morning. I went to TM Point to downgrade my 500Mbps to RM129 100Mbps as I don't think I'll be using that much speed. Currently I am paying RM199. The TM staff then offered me RM159, maintaining everything else in my package, but renewing my contract for another 2 years. So I said yes.

About my earlier doubts for RM30 discounts for 24-months is SOLVED by TM staffs...
According to him, I can remove my TV packs later to continue enjoy RM79 permanently...

This wireless router have no problem to get 800Mbps on wired & on wireless it can get 280Mbps +/-
Please check the wireless router settings such as QoS & NAT boost etc

I am with the same RYE 2017 package as you. However, during the upgrade promotion it's clearly stated there's no contract. Other formers also had also stated they're not on contract. So, have confirmed with TM you're on contract?

I am more interested with upcoming 25% discount.

Was helping my friend over the phone to help improve his unifi speed after he was turbo-ed to 500mbps
and he was getting only 100 mbps speedtest max on a dlink dir-850l so I suggested he buy a couple of cat6 cables which he did.

After replacing the cables he got even worse speeds like less than 10 mbps. Swapping in his old cables he got
about 100 mbps. After some troubleshooting including a teamviewer session or 2 i noticed that he was sometimes
getting 10mbps and 100mbps link speed between his PC and router.

So after much cajoling and wheedling plus a promise of free beer, I trekked over to his house to see what was up.
Turns out that he was running his brand new cat6 alongside the cable of his power strip so the electromagnetic
interference was causing his link to be inconsistently detected as 100 or even 10 mbps. Re-routing his
cables solved the low link speed (1Gbps) though it got us only 350-400 mbps which I took as a win.

So if you are inexplicably getting lower than expected link speeds between network devices and you
know your cables are good and both devices are correctly configured for 1Gbps you might want to
check if you cables are being run near and parallel(along side) to mains voltage power lines. If your network cable
has to cross a power line make sure it does it at as oblique an angle as possible preferably 90 degrees
to minimize interference. If circumstances require you to route your power and data lines along the same path
try to maintain at least 6" of separation.

Internal news:- thier technical department alr confirm they cannot  provide promised speed with thier current backbone and to upgrade that take few years in stages. So this project considered failed

Yes they are being affected. But what you're proposing will hit their arpu even harder. Not to mention the MSPA rebates that going to come unless they find a way to take that off the table from Gobind and 25 to 50% price reductions by the end of the year.
It isn't looking rosy for their bottom line and share price either way.

I was also offered the same package via email from TM. 119 30mbps. I dont think its a rumour

I was on Unifi Advance 30Mbps Bonanza Campaign come with Unifi TV Jumbo Lite Pack. Total monthly RM145.
TM offer me to upgrade to Unifi TV Ultimate Pack for only RM10 add on without any contract. And i still eligible for Turbo Upgrade 300mbps.

If downgrade to 100mbps,RM129 plan will not eligible for this offer.
