Can be a lot of reason. Some don't need the 500Mbps and wants to save the RM 40 which is Rm 480 a year. This is not including equipment upgrade costs.
Some depend on the internet for work, so additional speed is always welcomed.

Downgrade because I want the std20 & I want ultimate pack, without increasing my monthly bill.
I also mostly just do browsing, fb, and torrenting a little bit.. So, I can live with 100mpbs speed..

Last time I’m in same situation as you and what i did was just give a call to tm told them I need my PPOE credentials as I forgot them, then after several minutes received sms with my username and password. Then continue login with that and it immediately activated.

for ppoe password, you can try : password. See if it works for you..

yup..downgrade mine this morning from 100 RM189 to 100 RM129, CS just ask for IC and in 1 hour my package just changed from 100RYE to 100BEST at TM portal, no penalty involved
