QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jan 30 2019, 10:15 PM) Why do you want to get IPv6 though? It won’t increase your connection speed or WiFi speed. Your router does not support 500Mbps on WiFi. Yeah I know. But the fact that I had it and now it's gone kills me. Lol. EDIT: Oh hey, I'm on IPv6 now. Yay! This post has been edited by lokgotz: Jan 31 2019, 12:31 AM

Hi
I am currently live in a high rise building with a 50mbps package. I doubt TM will upgrade anytime soon. What simplest, inexpensive, router i can use? Was looking at Tenda 10U. My stock router is Networks from TM (quite old) and the performance has been bad lately. I am planning to upgrade to TIME later but for now need to use UNIFI.
Thanks

If on a separate supply, won't work.
If you are using a good wifi router, may be able to work direct. Else, pull a network cable over and put up an AP.

For 500mbps Unifi,
Is it better to get the 1) D-link DIR-867 or 2) Tenda AC18
I find a pretty alright price for both, Tenda AC18 is about rm70 cheaper.
I searched Blacktubi's website, and i find D-link DIR-867 and no Tenda AC18 review.
I've looked up Tenda's specification, it seems to be able to support up to 600mbps for 2.4 GHz, so it shouldnt bottleneck the speed I am getting, if any.
I see no reason to not get the AC18, other than maybe brand not established (?, sorry i am very noob at this networking thing, all ive heard of it D-link and TP-link) or maybe its harder to set up or something?
I would very appreciate if someone can help me by telling me how the DIR 867 is better than the AC 18. Thanks in advance.

The maximum speed possible is 100Mbps on 2.4Ghz, there's no easy way to get to even 200Mbps realistically.

Coz right now, for wireless devices, i only have mobile phones at home while my desktop and tv is hooked on ethernet cable. 100 mbps might still be acceptable, but im concerned about the range/penetration ( if say same floor and only 1 wall to penetrate anywhere, as i would want to set up AP with my old router or use range extenders for upstairs. Btw, thank you for your guides and reviews on your website. It has been really informative

Hi. Can someone suggest me decent router for gaming? The one that would prioritise my device compared to other. Eg: I can play dota 2 without being affected if my brother is streaming movies/dowloading software. Budget rm300 below.

Can get around 460 mbps. Also support Tomato firmware. This post has been edited by taqu: Feb 12 2019, 06:28 PM

Hi guys, I would like to seek some advise or recommendation. I am currently staying double story terrace house. My unifi upgraded to 800mb so I hope to be able to get speed to whole house.
Currently I am still using the given tm c1200 and it is located at the corridor of 1st floor. The centre of the house. Currently I have 2 cable running to desktop on the 1st floor. I have a repeater wa850re downstair that link to android box and TV.
Few question 1. Does changing to better router will increase the coverage 2. Which is better choice between aimesh by Asus vs those like tplink deco m9
Thanks

It will improve the coverage. You may ask this guy SilentVampire as he is using C3150. I'm using TIME and using own router instead of stock router. C1200 cannot tahan with 800Mbps. I'm using 500Mbps, always got disconnection. Thanks.
