Change to Archer AX73 and upgrade the WiFi card at your computer

If it's already Intel AX200 / AX210 WiFi card then no need to upgrade.

THANKS for the suggestion, now using wifi card tplink tx2oe, ax210 is currently being shipped from china.

was initially looking at ax73, tenda rx27 pro ( wifi 6e to complement ax210) and also found cheap ax86u in shopee maybe telco set from another country. i think thats all on my list for sub rm500 router

Do wifi 6e perform better in my case?

also found your review of ax73 on your website and currently looking for the best deal online

Stick to 5GHz for long distance performance.

IMO, 6GHz on low end routers are pointless, they are too weak to be usable. Currently only those high end routers offer usable 6GHz performance.

Avoid cheap grey import RT-AX86U on Shopee, those are refurbished unit and known to fail prematurely. Stick to Malaysia dealers / official. Sidenote, AX86U is discontinued, current for sale is RT-AX86U PRO model.

IMO, their AX72/AX73 is much better value than their own BE230 for now, get them while you still can

The coverage from AX72/AX73 is just much better compare to their BE230

And for mesh versus router, depending on your property type. For condo, mesh is almost always a must now.

For landed if it's not too big, you can do with 1x good router at center of ground floor.

1) House type: Landed
Size of house: Double Storey
Features required: anything
Number of devices connected to WiFi: 10+ (TV, laptops & mobiles)
Internet Speed: 500Mbps
Budget: RM500

Current Router: D-Link DIR-850L

Problem:
Just got upgraded from 300Mbps to 500Mbps. The WIFI speed remains at max 200Mbps but upload speed 100Mbps.

Coverage & speed: Can cover all rooms upstairs with lower signal with max 60Mbps

Looking for router that improve the signal and speed.

2) House type: Condo
Size of house: 1025 SQFT
Features required: anything
Number of devices connected to WiFi: 10+ (TV, laptops & mobiles)
Internet Speed: 500Mbps
Budget: RM500

Current Router: Not subscribed yet but plan to use own router

Looking for router that could cover the entire unit with high speed.

Thank you

Since you already have the necessary backhaul Cat6, you may consider using mesh.

Not sure what speed are you on, but I assume you should be on 100mbps or above? Get a Wifi6 rated mesh/router.

For your 2nd floor, you can either use wireless backhaul or pull another Cat6 cable. That would solve your problem.

Or if I were you, I would get a good rated wifi6 router/mesh, and the remaining 2 floors just get a used wifi6 router and set is as an AP for the roaming to work.

Thank you... any recommendation on good Wifi6 routers? Is TP-Link Deco home mesh system any good?

Regardless whether your isp speed is 100mbps or 500mbps, get deco x50...as of now this is the only device that gets latest update...the other wifi6 models not as soon as x50. wifi7 gets more love than their wifi6 lineups

I am currently using 30mbps FIbre, planning to upgrade to 100mbps, does it overkill to get a Wifi6 router?

Also another problem is my ground floor is using another Wifi name and the second router at the 1st floor is using another Wifi name, i tried use the same wifi name but whenever I move up/down, the internet would not be able to use

I am currently using the Maxis provided router Huawei LG8245X6, it has Wifi 6 EasyMesh and I have two older Maxis router which are Archer AC1200, is there anyway to mesh the new router and the old router?

To be able to fully enjoy Wifi6 capabilities ,you need to check how many devices at home is actually wifi6 gen. if you have more wifi5 devices currently, you might want to reuse back your old setup as it is. wifi6 basic router/mesh is not cheap unless during sale or used ones.

Roaming from one point to one point depends heavily on the device we are using (client) ,and that is why I said you need to check how many wifi6 devices you have on hand.

WiFi5 by nature has no roaming protocol unless the router maker has outright mention that is meshable and then yes, it will send out roaming protocol. You need protocol k,v,r to be enabled in its firmware in order to assist your device to roam from one point to another point.

My snapdragon 855+ oneplus7t , has only wifi5 and is having issues with roaming with my mesh network. where else my realme narzo 20 pro with a mtk chipset can roam although will notice the wifi icon sometimes disconnecting. so it really depends on what kind of device you are using and doesn't means is a high end device it will work flawlessly. but best get wifi6 gen devices ..that will help for the wifi signal range.

No, that huawei router easy mesh has a lot of problems. best not to rely on that for easymesh.

i suggest you read this website for better understanding of mesh.

From what I've seen before, it seems like they're not happy with WPA2/WPA3 mode, and also not happy with Protected Management Frames

you have to use WPA2 and no Protected Management Frames

Thanks, I got seller want to let go ax3000 from TIME. Can I buy it and use unifi id on that router? I'm currently on unifi 500mbps plan. Current router tplink A6 can support 400mbps on 5Ghz. So I think need to upgrade my router.
