I am currently using 30mbps FIbre, planning to upgrade to 100mbps, does it overkill to get a Wifi6 router?
Also another problem is my ground floor is using another Wifi name and the second router at the 1st floor is using another Wifi name, i tried use the same wifi name but whenever I move up/down, the internet would not be able to use
I am currently using the Maxis provided router Huawei LG8245X6, it has Wifi 6 EasyMesh and I have two older Maxis router which are Archer AC1200, is there anyway to mesh the new router and the old router?
To be able to fully enjoy Wifi6 capabilities ,you need to check how many devices at home is actually wifi6 gen. if you have more wifi5 devices currently, you might want to reuse back your old setup as it is. wifi6 basic router/mesh is not cheap unless during sale or used ones.
Roaming from one point to one point depends heavily on the device we are using (client) ,and that is why I said you need to check how many wifi6 devices you have on hand.
WiFi5 by nature has no roaming protocol unless the router maker has outright mention that is meshable and then yes, it will send out roaming protocol. You need protocol k,v,r to be enabled in its firmware in order to assist your device to roam from one point to another point.
My snapdragon 855+ oneplus7t , has only wifi5 and is having issues with roaming with my mesh network. where else my realme narzo 20 pro with a mtk chipset can roam although will notice the wifi icon sometimes disconnecting. so it really depends on what kind of device you are using and doesn't means is a high end device it will work flawlessly. but best get wifi6 gen devices ..that will help for the wifi signal range.
No, that huawei router easy mesh has a lot of problems. best not to rely on that for easymesh.
i suggest you read this website for better understanding of mesh.
