Nope, won't work on Unifi
*
May I know why? Is it due to different firmware use between unifi and time? Bcoz I saw on the box it mentioned can use with unifi/time/maxis.

The free router from TIME does not support VLAN tagging

However, since you didn't mention the model at all, can't confirm if it's a free router or the seller bought it him/herself

on the wifi security settings, change wpa2/wpa3 to wpa2 only?

From what I've seen before, it seems like they're not happy with WPA2/WPA3 mode, and also not happy with Protected Management Frames

you have to use WPA2 and no Protected Management Frames

hey.. thanks man..

i tried changed to wpa2-psk aes only.. yes it now connected..

thank you very much both of you.. notworthy.gif rclxm9.gif

Here the model. I'm not sure if this router a free router from TIME or he bought separately. Based on wifi ssid, seems not a free router from TIME, isn't?

TP-Link AX50

this is something you would have bought yourself, not provided by ISP

So yeah, you can reuse it with any ISP

If the devices do not support WiFi 6 but just 5, like old devices such as CCTVs, do you think if buying WIFI 6 router such as AX73 will improve the speed in term of latency and etc?

When you upgrade to a new router, often is not just the WiFi generational upgrade

Newer routers often come with better WiFi radio chip and they might have stronger signal and better at dealing with interference and this will benefit older WiFi devices as well

That's why when I am testing WiFi 7 routers with WiFi 6 devices, there will be performance uplift as well

You want bare basic wifi mesh on a budget go for X10. But don't expect any updates or newer features to be on it as TP link doesnt seems to update X10 frequently.

Already suggested go for Deco X50 (V1) particularly, as I'm also using it, and being frequently updated with the latest features and techs. even their Wifi7 decos don't get most of the requested features yet on their firmware.

average for home use....but stability not sure if its still the same as what many reported last time...but can be use ,just be patient with it and might need to restart if it starts acting up .

If you dont plan to use ethernet backhaul from unit A to unit B, then your only choice is a high end mesh system which will definitely exceed your RM2K budget

The wall between unit A and unit B will definitely be reinforced concrete wall which weaken WiFi signal significantly

Unit A
Use a unit of ZenWiFi ET12 at living room
You will need another node at master room, I suggest ethernet backhaul to an ASUS RT-AX57

Unit B
Another unit of ZenWiFi ET12 at living room

Thanks bro. Will this suffice to get a strong signal over B study room to maximise the 1Gbps connection? Or should I also add another node at the door CCTV area?

Stick to 5GHz for long distance performance.

IMO, 6GHz on low end routers are pointless, they are too weak to be usable. Currently only those high end routers offer usable 6GHz performance.

Avoid cheap grey import RT-AX86U on Shopee, those are refurbished unit and known to fail prematurely. Stick to Malaysia dealers / official. Sidenote, AX86U is discontinued, current for sale is RT-AX86U PRO model.

What distance do u consider long distance for switching from 6ghz to 5ghz.

10meter from wireless ap? 15 meter? What's the threshold for 6ghz for stance. 1-2 wall ok?

I have just signup TIME 600Mbps.
The given router is not really satisfy as i live in d-story house and 5GHz keep getting disconnect upstairs. I am looking for a better router eg: AX72 Pro and AX73.

Any comment on the 2 model above?
