I have just signup TIME 600Mbps.
The given router is not really satisfy as i live in d-story house and 5GHz keep getting disconnect upstairs. I am looking for a better router eg: AX72 Pro and AX73.

Any comment on the 2 model above?

I just got the tplink archer be400. It's has strong coverage for my double story 22x70 house for both 2.4 & 5 GHz band.. Otherwise, maybe Asus tuf ax4200. Fyi, I have both to compare.

I will suggest go for mesh WiFi system or multi router mesh

Any single router will not give you an excellent 5GHz WiFi coverage on second floor

It will be mediocre at best

Which one is actually faster, ignore signal strenght

Let say both installed at same place and speed tested at same place

Do you have a more recent guide for setting up openwrt on your website?
Things have changed alot from the older versions of openwrt and I think I might mess up if I install/upgrade to the latest version 23.

Also does unifi implement PCP to allow port forwarding for its users now that it has implemented CGNAT? Port forwarding seems to be working on my torrent client but using an online port checker (eg. https://portchecker.co/) says my port is closed. My unifi package is the old 100Mbps (now upgraded to 150ish Mbps).

I no longer use OpenWRT due to poor WiFi performance on modern hardward as OpenWRT do not use closed source WiFi drivers

No Unifi dont do PCP

U can try placing the router in the middle of house, if possible middle house under ground floor ceiling.
Might improve coverage.

Better to reconfigure it, BE65 is 2 generation leap from M9 Plus

House type: Condo
Size of house: 1600 sqft
Number of devices connected to WiFi: around 15
Internet Speed: times 600 mbps
Budget : around 1k-1.5k

I’m currently using the free WiFi 7 router from TIME, but the performance has been disappointing. I'm considering upgrading to a better mesh system and have narrowed it down to the Asus XT9 and TP-Link Deco XE75. However, I’ve come across mixed reviews for both. (if there are better suggestion, i am open to it as well )

Can sifu give some advice? thank you in advance

Hi guys. I'm new to this so please bear with me.

I am using Time Fibre broadband and the WiFi signal in my 1000sqft 3 bedroom condo is bad. So, I thought of buying a new WiFi router would improve this. But I was told it is not a 1 to 1 replacement, as in what I was supplied with by Time is a WiFi modem and the WiFi router sold does not have modem capability. I was advice to first configure the existing modem to a bridge mode and then get a WiFi router and then connect it to the existing WiFi modem. I was reading some of the past posts in this subforum. My understanding is:-

1. Get a WiFi router
2. Call Time to configure the WiFi modem to bridge mode
3. Connect WiFi router to LAN port 1 of WiFi modem using LAN cable
3. Copy PPPoE details in Time portal and configure into the WiFi router

Are the steps above correct and is there anything I might have missed out? Also, with a budget of RM600, what is a good WiFi router would you guys recommend? Thanks!

if u only concern of wifi signal, don't bother with bridge mode setting if you do not have the knowledge.

you can just turn off the wifi of Time router, and connect to another strong wifi router in Access Point (AP) mode thru ethernet cable.

Hey thanks for the pointer. Had to use ChatGPT to get a little bit more clarity but managed to sort it out. You are right this is much simpler and straight forward. Thanks again.

Guys would appreciate if could advice for 3storey 22x70 wifi setup? Only normal users family of 3 like web browsing and tv netflix etc. There is no time coverage so most probably go for tm or astro. Will the stock router be enough
I assume 1st floor will be the optimum router position right? The previous owner has cat6 wiring done for g floor living hall & 2nd floor rooms. How does mesh wifi works? Really noob in all these

this router price never drops, is it common for routers to not drop price?
