QUOTE(blacktubi @ Dec 21 2024, 11:46 AM) IMO, their AX72/AX73 is much better value than their own BE230 for now, get them while you still can Thanks. Why condo must have Mesh? The coverage from AX72/AX73 is just much better compare to their BE230 And for mesh versus router, depending on your property type. For condo, mesh is almost always a must now. For landed if it's not too big, you can do with 1x good router at center of ground floor. |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Dec 21 2024, 12:01 PM) Condo walls are usually metal reinforced concrete instead of brick walls at landed any diff between AX72 & AX73 and got pro some more (Found the differences)For a rough estimate, 1 layer of metal reinforce concrete wall reduces 40% of the 5GHz signal This means your 5GHz coverage is usually gone after 3 walls and barely usable after 2 walls 2.4GHz will be better but due to the nature of condo, it will have bad interference issue, resulting in ping spike or laggy WiFi calls Hence you need mesh node extend the 5GHz coverage TLDR: Condos are usually better built than landed and the metal reinforced concrete slabs are acting as farday cage Looking to get one during 1.1. sales This post has been edited by Sunshape: Dec 23 2024, 10:43 PM |

QUOTE(monyetgila @ Dec 24 2024, 11:55 AM) THANKS for the suggestion, now using wifi card tplink tx2oe, ax210 is currently being shipped from china. Bought AX73 via Shopee last nite and after voucher, RM369. Worth or not?was initially looking at ax73, tenda rx27 pro ( wifi 6e to complement ax210) and also found cheap ax86u in shopee maybe telco set from another country. i think thats all on my list for sub rm500 router Do wifi 6e perform better in my case? also found your review of ax73 on your website and currently looking for the best deal online |

If the devices do not support WiFi 6 but just 5, like old devices such as CCTVs, do you think if buying WIFI 6 router such as AX73 will improve the speed in term of latency and etc?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Dec 31 2024, 11:51 AM) When you upgrade to a new router, often is not just the WiFi generational upgrade I see. It seems that I need to buy another AX73 unit for 2nd premise. Newer routers often come with better WiFi radio chip and they might have stronger signal and better at dealing with interference and this will benefit older WiFi devices as well That's why when I am testing WiFi 7 routers with WiFi 6 devices, there will be performance uplift as well |
