For those found that router smart connect function "too smart" and allocate some high speed clients to 2.4ghz ,
Can try disable the smart connect function but set 5ghz and 2.4 same ssid and password.... This could let those high speed clients(eg handphones) auto choose 5ghz most of the time and auto switch to 2.4ghz when 5ghz signal too weak and auto switch back to 5ghz when move to signal strong position..
Just based on my own experience after try several AC and AX routers (tplink c5v, ax10, ax50, totolink a3002ru,huawei ax3 pro, dlink dir-x5460) and even mesh wifi (deco m9 plus, m4, airtiles given by maxis)

Since I got whole house 5Ghz coverage, I no longer need to use the 2.4Ghz except for my IoT stuffs. I decided to just forget / remove the 2.4Ghz network on all my gadgets so they only roam between the 5Ghz network of my mesh WiFi system.

Hi, sifus, recently finally being able to upgrade to Unifi, current subscribed to 100Mbps package and is given DIR-825M (horrible experience). Getting very very bad signal in the kitchen, only getting one bar and cant even load Whatsapp, the more serious problem is 2.4Ghz only getting 20~30 mbps even next to the router, however, 5ghz gives around 100 if next to router.
Would like to know whether to get a pair of deco or router (ax72?) House type: Residental Size of house: 1800sf Features required: Not really Number of devices connected to WiFi: 4~5 Internet Speed: 100Mbps Budget: 100~400

I’m deciding between Asus AX55 or Tplink AX20, both seems to be a good option. Not sure its only price difference or I might have missed out more. Which would you guys choose between this two?

Hi Sifus, I've got a Asus RT-88u for upstairs and access point (ubiquiti LR) at downstairs.
There are still some black spots at corners of the house (room and kitchen area). Just wondering if mesh should do good with my so so setup?

Or Asus CT8, during sales can get below RM1K. Or Asus AC68U Twin Pack with AiMesh.

Or you may consider ASUS CT8 for firmware. Able to get below RM1K during sales maybe 10.10 sales. Deco M9 Plus is suitable for 500Mbps as well. If you need AX then consider X20 or X60(need top up).

Hi Sifuz,
Currently using Archer C5v (stock router from Maxis). Reception at upper floors not great, so looking to either upgrade router or change to wifi mesh. Appreciate your advice.
House type: Landed Size of house: 3 storey Features required: improve connection at ypper floors Number of devices connected to WiFi: 4 HP, 1 android tv (mainly for Netflix), 4 computers (frequently uses Zoom, VPN) Internet Speed: Maxis 30 Mbps (looking to upgrade to 100Mbps) Budget: 1k
