QUOTE(Hutchy @ Nov 2 2018, 02:46 PM) Friends I have a weird experience with my Asus router. I have a Unifi Turbo 500Mbps plan and my router is Asus RT-AC55UHP and with a CAT6 ethernet cable the max speed i get is less than 250Mbps, i launched a complaint with Unifi and they sent their technicians to check and the guys who came to check the issue suggested to used my stock Unifi router which is Dlink DIR-850L and to everyones surprise i was getting 500+Mbps speed with the Dlink router. So here is my confusion i thought the Asus RT-AC55UHP was an advanced router as compared to the DIR-850L and the technicians from unifi also agreed but none of us were able to say why the ASUS router cannot even reach 300Mbps while the Dlink obtained the speed with no issues. Any thoughts on this guys. FYI i have tried resetting my Asus router and configured it fresh but it still cannot reach the speed above 250Mbps. Is it an issue with the router itself? try updating the asus router's firmware to the latest firmware and try again. sometimes your very old firmware cant support the speed.

Follow these three simple steps to do a hard reset on your router:
1 With the router plugged in and powered on, hold down the reset button for 30 seconds.
2 While still holding down the button, unplug the router from the power source for another 30 seconds. You can do this by unplugging the power cable from the wall or by unplugging the power cable from the router.
3 With the reset button still held down, turn the power back on and hold for yet another 30 seconds.

The firmware have the Unifi mode but you need to change the language. Of course, it is really hard to claim warranty shall there be a defect.

QUOTE(slaveone @ Nov 2 2018, 07:00 PM) tried to upgrade my TP Link Archer C1200 from TIME to V3 but failed. any ideas..? What's your C1200 hardware version? Normally TIME provide V1 to every customers. Please do upgrade the firmware according to which version of hardware and software. If V1 then V1 And so on. You cannot install V3 firmware to V1 firmware. Doing it so may brick the firmware or void the warranty from TIME. Thanks.

Latest version got more improvements than old version. Some brands/models have different hardware version TP-Link Archer C9 latest hardware version is V5 and mine is V2. The old TP-Link logo is the full word in Capital letters while the new logo is small letters as my avatar. Thanks. This post has been edited by FusionXY: Nov 3 2018, 02:53 PM

QUOTE(cannavaro @ Nov 2 2018, 10:12 PM) oh.. maybe you can try a 30/30/30 reset? Tried it and now i get speeds upto 320Mbps from my earlier speed of less than 250Mbps on this router, but no where near the 500Mbps mark but the default Dlink router consistently hits 500+ Mbps.

Thanks for explaining. updated with the latest correct version and not managed to exceed 300Mbps over 5GHz Wifi. No other devices connected to the router at the same time.
