Found this in the tp-link official forum, about C7 v4. https://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?10...-V5-(and-older)I'm using the C7 v4 but I am unable to test this as the account I'm using it with is only 100Mbps, and so far the router has been solid. Will only be able to test it with 800Mbps some time next month Any other owners can share their experience?

QUOTE(terdit @ Oct 23 2018, 05:42 PM) not really need to hit the max speed, but prefer something that more consistence and reliable, less problem. Thanks, will have a look on that Since you are using TIME you can even flash to the latest firmware. From what I read the firmware for Unifi and Maxis is outdated

Anyone tried using D-Link DIR-825+? almost the same specs as the DIR-842 that TM provides for unifi but cheaper. https://www.lazada.com.my/products/d-link-d...49fbcHvnUR&mp=3Main difference other than the USB port is the dedicated AP or repeater mode.

QUOTE(Hutchy @ Nov 2 2018, 02:46 PM) Friends I have a weird experience with my Asus router. I have a Unifi Turbo 500Mbps plan and my router is Asus RT-AC55UHP and with a CAT6 ethernet cable the max speed i get is less than 250Mbps, i launched a complaint with Unifi and they sent their technicians to check and the guys who came to check the issue suggested to used my stock Unifi router which is Dlink DIR-850L and to everyones surprise i was getting 500+Mbps speed with the Dlink router. So here is my confusion i thought the Asus RT-AC55UHP was an advanced router as compared to the DIR-850L and the technicians from unifi also agreed but none of us were able to say why the ASUS router cannot even reach 300Mbps while the Dlink obtained the speed with no issues. Any thoughts on this guys. FYI i have tried resetting my Asus router and configured it fresh but it still cannot reach the speed above 250Mbps. Is it an issue with the router itself? Is Smart QOS (or whatever QOS setting) turned on? If yes try disabling it

QUOTE(Hutchy @ Nov 2 2018, 09:04 PM) I checked and it has the latest firmware which is 3.0.0.4.382.50702, i have been having various issues with this router since i have bought this. oh.. maybe you can try a 30/30/30 reset? QUOTE How to Perform a 30-30-30 Router Reset
Follow these three simple steps to do a hard reset on your router:
1 With the router plugged in and powered on, hold down the reset button for 30 seconds.
2 While still holding down the button, unplug the router from the power source for another 30 seconds. You can do this by unplugging the power cable from the wall or by unplugging the power cable from the router.
3 With the reset button still held down, turn the power back on and hold for yet another 30 seconds.

I just noticed that TP LINK Archer AX50 is about RM530, cheaper than Archer C3150, a non AX router
I'm curious if the 5Ghz range for AX50 is as good, or better than C3150?

QUOTE(NelsonDone @ Jul 9 2020, 02:32 PM) Just upgraded from stock router to the AX20. Wifi speed is the same as the old one, only getting between 300-400mbps on my 500mbps plan. Even on ethernet also the same. I thought it is the old router that I can't get to full speed so dunno what's the bottleneck. Try different speedtest servers? For me, I rarely get full speed from TM servers on the speedtest app or even TM speedtest website A few servers that I recall which gets me full speed are InNet, Extreme Broadband, MacroLynx.. I can even direct download from real-debrid (it's a filehosting service) and get 800++ Mbps

I bought 2 units of Deco M9 Plus from TM (RM35 x 24 months) Not for my own use but to put at another address (I have multiple accounts).
So I tested the M9... Archer C2300 as the main router, cable---> switch, cable ---->M9. Slave M9 connected wirelessly. Using the built in speedtest on the deco app (to those who don't know, the test on the app is done not from phone wifi but directly from the master deco to speedtest server), highest speed shown after a few tests was 600+Mbps
However if I connect my laptop directly (cable) to the main deco I can get 800+Mbps. Same result when the laptop was connected (cable) to the slave deco (full signal strength from master deco to slave)
Moved the slave deco to another location where the signal strength from the master is fluctuating between 2 to 3 bars, the speed was 300+Mbps
Pretty satisfied with it, first time 'playing' with mesh router.

You intend to maintain the existing router or replace it? Or is that budget just for the access point on 1st floor

QUOTE(hshern95 @ Sep 9 2020, 09:04 AM) the price actually exceeds my budget... may I know how's the network coverage of AX20? as I read the review from Blacktubi mentioning AX20 will support oneMesh feature in future right? probably to get this first and then get another AX20 to build the mesh wifi ?? or just directly get the deco x20 is enough? Onemesh doesn't work with more than 1 router, unlike asus aimesh. you have to pair the onemesh compatible router with specific onemesh extenders like the RE300... this is a poor man's aimesh xD BTW, tp link include this disclaimer on their onemesh devices page" "Note: The OneMesh firmware update for products marked "Planned" is not a guarantee. "
