Yes, it is possible with C7. Just try and see how it goes. Remember that your device needs to be able to support the speed as well on 5GHz AC.

Tp-Link Archer C7 V4 compare to D-Link DIR-842 are having same main chip and similar spec. that is the reason for me tested them both having very similar performance on my 100Mbps TM package.

However, DIR-842 slightly better range compare to Archer C7, around 10~15% better

Cool, when you are talking about the range, was it 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz?

The C7 is an AC1750 device with 3 streams support anyway. It will perform faster with the right client.

My house is double story teres and router setup near center of house.

Using DIR-842, 5G can get min 2bar signal at furthest point, speed test can get full 100mbps/50mbps DL/UL.

Using Archer C7 V4, 5G can get min 1-2bar at furthest point, also able to get full 100mbps/50mbps DL/UL speed.

Both router when Using 2.4G, can get full bar, speed test both get max 50mbps/50mbps DL/UL.

My mobile is not 2 or 3 stream, and my Unifi package is 100mbps, so, I get similar performance from both Router because Router is not the limiting factor.

Just don't know why DIR-842 getting slightly more bar on my mobile, maybe it has better antenna.

Can someone suggest me which router to buy for Unifi 800mbps? Max wifi connection should be 30 devices at once (rarely will have that much). The router will be located at the Ground Floor, in a 2-storey house

Would like to be able to get the full 800mbps, and also a stable one as previously we used a few router, which we need to restart once in a while.

Budget is RM1k, but since I'm not really sure about the market for router, I'll be glad if I can get something cheaper than my proposed budget.

Thank you guys!

Refer to 1st page of this thread. No problem with your budget.

With only a single router on ground floor, there's no way you can get near 800mbps upstairs. You need a second router as AP on 2nd floor, connected via CAT5E cable.

Hello,

I'm using turbo 100Mbps. What is the max download speed and upload speed I should be getting. I changed from D-LINK DIR-842 C2 to Tenda AC10U. I'm using 5Ghz network and only getting 104Mbps DL and 52.3 UL. Is it TM capped my speed? Cables used are all CAT6 and same applied for LAN to desktop.

Thanks for the feedback, considering the speed is the same so both probably performed rather similarly.

DIR-842 is a much cheaper device, kinda surprised by the performance. D-Link has come a long way. biggrin.gif

Archer C3150 or Asus Blue Cave.

800Mbps over WiFi is only possible with super good client device but of course, you can have 3 devices reaching a combined speed of 800Mbps at a same time.

My concern is the download speed. I saw some people getting at least 115Mbps for download speed for 100Mbps package. Even on LAN, it's the same. Maxed at 104Mbps download. haha called TM to check and talked with them. They told me they didn't put speed cap but was requesting them to check the BTU but they said already fixed. So, I thought it's my side only having this issue?

They cap it at 100Mbps.

Those users that get more than that is due to fluctuation and inaccuracy on testing tools.

I just subscribe Unifi 100MB package. I am using TM TRG212M router, I notice my LAN speed can up to 96MBps but wireless speed is just around 20MBps. May I know what is going wrong? What can I do to fix it? TQ

You have to change your router. That router is old. See 1st page of this thread for list of good routers that you can choose.

This is how I setup for my house la.

1. Install AC86U at the living room.
2. Buy D26G Mercury Router and connect to AC88U via WDS. You may connect your PC to D26G via LAN cable.
3. If you have remaining routers just set them up as repeaters.

Everything bought from Taobao.

AC88U : RM 542 AC2600 rating
D26G: Mercury Router RM 180 AC2600 rating

If you have more budget can buy more D26G and setup around the house and place beside your work station or buy Asus AC68U and setup as Media Bridge.

not include shipping fees yet. The setup above is already adequate

I have tried the setup above, able to achieve 300 Mbps ++

Is your D26G near to the PC? What's the difference if say instead I were to use my laptop's own wifi receiver to connect to the router downstairs? 5GHz is available on my laptop
