Alright thank you. I have a laptop that doesn't detect 5GHZ wifi. So if i get this T4U, it will be able to receive 5GHZ and then utilize it right?

Yes.

ADSL router prices seem to drop over the years but fiber router seems to be getting pricier. Any reason for that ?

More features and demand is higher, so price will naturally rise.

Updated this post with a quick guide on post #1 and included USB WiFi adapter list.

Not full list of everything in the market but these are the adapters that I think you should buy. smile.gif

May I check, I just received the msg that I have been turbo for Unifi.. to 300mbps
I'm currently using TM provided DIR-850, after reading the forums, looks like I have to change router to get better wifi speed. Just to confirm will changing to TP-link AC1750 will be able to get better wifi speed? and need to use cat 6 cable?

Wanted to confirm before purchasing. Thanks

Sorry no knowledge in networking.

Ah yes, probably that is the issue, the USB extension port does not have enough power for the wireless adapter.

It depends on what u want out of ur router actually. For me I am contended already with full speed via wired connection and then around 200~300 Mbps via wifi. To get that just get a basic router with AC and gigabit connection. Less than RM200

Hey everyone
is it true that there are no way to change Dlink DIR882 to be a AP? Time is replacing my DIR650L to DIR882 but I feel like getting TPlink AC3150 as the main router to utilize the max speed

Just plug the LAN cable to the LAN port not WAN port, then turn off DHCP of the dir882

Forget about getting 500Mbps on wireless on AC1200. Max is 300Mbps. You need a better router, with better hardware specs. You need something like the C9 or C2300.
Nope. Not recommended for 500Mbps. Get something more powerful, like the C9 or the C2300.

Hi bro. how about C7? I own C7 from my previous house. When i subscribe to TIME at new home they give me C1200 but wifi speed around 300mbps only.
My package upgraded to 500mbs. With C7 can I achieve 500mbps wireless speed? (distance 5m router split by thin/plywood wall).

Yes, it is possible with C7. Just try and see how it goes. Remember that your device needs to be able to support the speed as well on 5GHz AC.
