Already sold it after using it for few months. Bought it just becoz of the camera which I think is overrated. Only good on nightmode which I seldom used.

I bought it from taobao, the metal edge is kinda sharp and cutting. And it affects the reception of the phone. Highly not recommended. I used for a few hours and i threw it away 😤

Or any recommend casing that can protect the camera? Because this phone design has the camera stick out so much. Worry it will get scratch or crack.

For me & my wife's P20P don't have halo effect on the edges with Nillkin H+ Pro. We switched from X-One which scratched badly after just 2 months usage, during took out the X-One can see it started became yellowish and not that clear anymore. Same thing happened when we were using P9+, X-One to me is overrated & expensive.

New owner reporting in~ Changed from my 4 years iPhone 6 to this one. So far so good but I always got some lagging problems in some area. Those area are:

1) Newly captured photos are not appearing instantly in Gallery. I need to open the gallery and wait for 2 seconds, the screen will blink and the new pictures will come out.
2) Number of message indicator/notifications for SMS does not instantly go away after reading the message. It will take 2-3 seconds after leaving the Message app. It does not happen to Whatsapp.
3) Transition between apps are not so smooth, sometimes it will stutter a bit.

Anyone else facing the same issue?

P20 use here since April. I sold mine a few months ago and bought another P20.
What I noticed is that my first P20 is blazing fast while my latest one is not so smooth.

I can't confirm whether it is because of the latest update but I'm pretty sure that I never had issues with my first P20.
My theory is the storage used in the newer batch are older memory chips. (Of course first impression is more important).

Message slightly slow to remove the banner after uodate to 152. but small case, i believe is software issue. have no rest issues you mentioned. Try dalvik cache clear.

I have talked to the Huawei Support team from the LiveChat and they have asked me to do the Wipe Cache Partition thing and it seems fine now. Maybe i will just monitor for few days and see how. Hurm. I bought 2 units together with my Wife and she is not facing any of those 3 problems that I mentioned. Guess I am just unlucky.

Its software, software have bugs. Its normal.

To be fair, I do feel that X-One is worth it if you are butterfinger enough to drop your phone, face down, multiple times, on rough surfaces (err yeah)... or are prone to sticking weird things straight into your screen by accident (yeah, don't ask).

In that case tempered glass would normally just do what tempered glass does, break into a million (laminated) pieces. And typical cheap thin plastic protectors would do what IT normally does... which is not much to protect your screen from impact.

But of course, plastic is plastic and dang if it doesn't scratch by just having me blow on lol. It's useful for impacts yes, but for scratches... you'd be better off treating it as a layer to BE scratched instead of your screen lol.

Yeah agree that the camera is awesome! But I turn off AI mode when shooting greenery because the greens tend to look very artificial. Same case for Blue Sky detection.

It's a great no frills camera for those who can't be bothered to toggle professional settings -- but if you want to adjust ISO exposure etc there is Pro mode for that. I tell people that you don't need to know anything about photography to take nice pictures with the P20 Pro because the camera does it for you.

ya me too, didn't even know got issue.

Disappointed with P20 Desktop Mode (Easy Projection). It can't even run Netflix, YouTube and many other apps in fullscreen. Hell even the good old Remix Mini (Remix OS) can run lots and lots of apps fullscreen.

4k unlikely to be fixed due to Kirin 970 SoC limitation

It is possible to run YouTube through a browser at the expense of audio performance reliability. Heck, even the 2016 Remix Mini can run a desktop version of Android more reliably.

Btw, WhatsApp seem to be working just fine.

Yes. Previously did not enable, thus people couldn't call in. Now enable it, people could call in, but I am not notified.

I got mine installed.

There is no setting available. It automatically switches to supercharge when the original in box adaptor and cable are used.

You can't disable, maybe you can try to control by using different cables or charging head.

Never did like Mate line. Furthermore, P30 line would be launched next after Mate 20 line. While Mate 30 would be for end of next year.

The original casing is only good for protecting against scratches to the sides and back. For drop impact better get Spigen, UAG or Otterbox.

thanks. I never drop my phone and the problem now is the paint around the bottom speaker peel off itself. I've many huawei and honor phones and this is the only phone having this problem.

I think this is design error of that area or the chrome plating issue. Chrome plating is thinner and has weaker adhesion around sharp edges. The circular holes for the speakers are sharp. The designers should have put more radii there.

Should the camera be covered or it is scratch resistant?

Been using the original case for a month plus. Went to Europe couple of days ago and the original case protected the camera just fine as I have a habit of twirling my phone on the table when I talk.

So I'd say the camera glass is pretty robust as some of the tables are made of grainy wood.

On another note... M getting the spigen case next week.
