New owner reporting in~ Changed from my 4 years iPhone 6 to this one. So far so good but I always got some lagging problems in some area. Those area are:

1) Newly captured photos are not appearing instantly in Gallery. I need to open the gallery and wait for 2 seconds, the screen will blink and the new pictures will come out.
2) Number of message indicator/notifications for SMS does not instantly go away after reading the message. It will take 2-3 seconds after leaving the Message app. It does not happen to Whatsapp.
3) Transition between apps are not so smooth, sometimes it will stutter a bit.

Anyone else facing the same issue?

P20 use here since April. I sold mine a few months ago and bought another P20.
What I noticed is that my first P20 is blazing fast while my latest one is not so smooth.

I can't confirm whether it is because of the latest update but I'm pretty sure that I never had issues with my first P20.
My theory is the storage used in the newer batch are older memory chips. (Of course first impression is more important).

Huawei knows how to lie to their consumers

Huawei says it’s using chips “randomly,” based on the component shipments it receives from suppliers. “There are no period batches or manual selection for chip batches,” the company said. What this means is that getting a “good” unit is a matter of luck. You could run benchmarks on the phone prior to purchasing it, but that’s simply not feasible in many cases.

Hi,

I'm a new user of P20 Pro.

Would like to ask all the owners here, do you all notice if your camera (3 at the back) is slightly misaligned? It doesn't affect the performance but I'm a little OCD so i notice mine kinda misaligned.

Anyone else have the same issue like me?

Thanks in advance.

My first Huawei P20 unit is perfect.
No misalignment with the camera module.

I sold it and bought my 2nd P20 (which I already sold as well. LOL)
I noticed one of the lenses at the back was off center but not by much.
Also, the volume and power buttons are a bit wobbly.

I bought my first P20 on the first week of launch while my 2nd P20 after 3 months.
So I guess they ramped up their production and compromised quality.

So some units might not be perfect.

sooo i just made the switch to p20 pro from iphone!

overall quite satisfied with the phone so far, just that i've read that there is a bug that prevents the ability to reply to whatsapp directly from lock screen notifications which is quite annoying.. and selfie + pics with people is a bit too beautified in my opinion.

besides that, battery life has been amazing. love the supercharger as well. going to get an extra huawei supercharger soon!

Blame EMUI. It's not a bug but not a feature of the lockscreen overlay.

When you switch from rear cam to selfie, it will automatically go to portrait selfie. Slide to photo and turn off auto beauty filter. But just the same, the front camera produces smooth skin tones and very unnatural. Some people like it though.
