Anyone know what is the credit limit that Maybank allows in proportion to monthly income? Trying to get 3x but it was rejected, but other banks give me much higher limit.

Try lower down others limit and apply again. To be honest u don’t need every cc to be of so high limit. Not like you are using them all the time and the number of times I heard saying for emergency is like… if u can’t afford to pay it then what is the emergency limit good for? lol

Can i use SEB care to pay for my sesco bill to get 5%?

Amex is accepted at SEB Cares. BUT Utilities-Electricity MCC is excluded from weekend CB.

In order to get 5% weekend cashback, pay SESCO bills at Lazada App (Lazada-EC) or Shopee App (Airpay Malaysia).

You may get extra savings by paying SESCO bills at Shopee App, e.g. 75% by Amex + 25% by Shopee Coins, +100 coins if using Bill-Electricity voucher (till today only).

The reason might be a lil off topic, yes usually credit limit doesn't bother me because it is unutilised most of the time. This time round is due to the promo on BT, thus want to increase my limit to maximise that.

airpay mcc ocde is 6450 is under ewallet, are u sure can get 5 percent cashback for maybank amex?

I noticed this AirPay thingy for bills payment, so that means cannot pay with AmEx to get cash back?

Airpay Malaysia Sdn Bhd owns Shopee Pay (Shopee Pay: MCC6540).

But for bill payment service @ Shopee App, the MCC for Airpay Malaysia is 5964 (verified by Kiple) if using a Visa (except Public Bank Visa), not sure the MCC used if paying by Maybank Amex. BUT I did receive 5% weekend CB in the past few months including September 2023. Some people also reported receiving 8% online CB at Maybank Islamic CC Thread.

P/S: I just checked my September transactions, I used M2 Amex to pay Airpay 3 times, all got 5% weekend CB.

MCC might have been changed from 6540 (reported in 2021) to 5964 (I guess).

TNB confirm cannot get AMEX cashback via existing means of payments (TNB app, JOMPay, M2U bill payment).
