QUOTE(beLIEve @ Oct 11 2018, 04:26 PM) Haha. So they're very the efficient. Look see your ccriss then you should know if Public Bank is the reason, or too soon an application. Last time submitted all the required documents then everything went smooth lo. I did ask the branch staff how will the CL given, she said sometime 2x, sometimes 2.5 based on pay. Obviously i just got 2x la. 😒I've read somewhere in this forum that Maybank2me will reduce your limit if you're not utilizing it. wahhhh 1 month so soon. I thought have to wait until got extra income only can ask, but of course, no one can stop you from trying either. Anyway, it is enough also lah based on my spending style during my 7 years time with my gold m2c. |

I've read normally is 2x-3x. Somehow I got around 1.5x monthly basic + OT salary. They're last in my application spree, so maybe that's the reason. They didn't gave me any hassle, so thumbs up to Maybank2me. |

Oh ya, the masking trend used to be popular last time and there was once I sounded on such practice. I don't see it anymore. I don't see what's the purpose of hiding such information. already got another user confused with this Anyway, I hope others can post in proper and standard English which is easily understandable by others. |

Anyone used M2C Amex for foreign transactions?
Will the 5% weekend Cashback work and is it worth using it for the 5% Cashback? I'm planning to buy my air ticket from UNIAIR directly. From what I see, I will be charged with a 2.5% conversion factor by AMEX + 0.5% admin charges by Maybank. So effectively 3% premium over their exchange rate right? So putting it simple, still approximately 2% Cashback? Or I'm still missing something? |

However, you will need to take note of the transaction time, some follows overseas server. Thanks for the reminder, will do Saturday night then. It is Taiwan tho so I think I might be safe in that regards.Any idea how are the charges applied? How about the exchange rate? Competitive? Or huge premium over market? |

Using M2 Amex Gold/Platinum, you will earn 5TP worth 1%. Using Maybank Visa/MC, you still need to pay +2% to 2.5%. So sometime I used Amex instead of Visa, before Oct 2017. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 11 2018, 05:59 PM) 2 other issues... Exactly, that's why I'm asking if it's worth using the AMEX card from the Maybank 2 Cards combo for foreign transaction haha. To be fair, I ONLY use AMEX from the combo. If they don't accept AMEX, I'll use some other card instead of the Visa/MC from the combo.Using M2 Amex Gold/Platinum, you will earn 5TP worth 1%. Using Maybank Visa/MC, you still need to pay +2% to 2.5%. So sometime I used Amex instead of Visa, before Oct 2017. It's 5% Cashback, but with an additional 2.5% + 0.5% Conversion and Admin Charges. Simple terms, approximately 5% - 3% = 2% Cashback. But now that you mention TP, yeah that should be worth approximately another 1% haha. My only concern now is that the rate provided isn't competitive, but then again my amount isn't that big so it shouldn't be that significant. |
