Thanks mate. That's very helpful. Btw, were you at home when the guys from Dell sent your LCD? Is it ok if someone else receive it? I won't be at home at daytime. I seldom order stuffs online so I'm not quite sure of how this sort of thing goes.

Nah, it will come today around 4pm i guess. Not at home to receive the item but there will be people helping me with it. Therefore, i could not check for problem on the spot. Need to recheck it tonight and hopefully, no DP problem.

I see. Is there any chance that Dell will call us 1-2 days to confirm the time/date of delivery? Wish that I'll be at home so I can scrutinize everything on the spot if there's any DP, defects etc.

The dispatch will call you one day in advance. But it is not possible to scrutinize on the spot, the dispatch people is not going to stand there waiting for you to check, they deliver, you receive, they go, end of story. If you are not satisfy with the unit, call DELL again and they will arrange for a replacement.

I think there will not be a significant drop during the fair, considering it is already so cheap now. The fair is still 3 weeks ++ away, if I were you, I would get it now.

Yes, you get the point right there. If you are not at home, you can always ask other people to receive it on behalf of you. All he need to do is sign an agreement letter and they will give you the LCD. smile.gif

Another customer satisfied by the Dell's after sales service. They also receive very high marks from me for their customer service. Almost instant reaction to any problem, mannerful, and very friendly in the first place. Very good warranty policy as well.. thumbup.gif Might not be the best LCD around but the service really make up for everything..

Well, mine for one, they allow me to check but its a matter of checking the external of the hardwares. In term of the function itself, you will need to do that on your own and they will not wait for you to do so. If you found out any problem, just email Dell and they will solve the problem for you asap. Their customer service gets a thumbs up from me.. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

For me, i say go for it now.RM849 is even cheaper than during the promotion time. I rather save RM50 than get a webcam as freebie. Good deal indeed.

mostly they are using taiwan chimei panel now
u ll not see any difference without take in 2 different models and compare side by side.
anyway, all TN panels have almost the same specs, its good enough for normal use.

Well, on my 228WFP, it does not state the panel of the monitor. And i heard people stating that Dell is going panel lottery as well. Not sure though..

Yes, i am kinda sure you can do that even though i did not try that before. The main reason is because i got an exchange for my LCD when i made a report without them ever checking the LCD itself..

panel lottery has been a trends for major LCD makers, because most panel makers will only mass produce on a particular size of panels. Samsung has to minimize cost by buying TN panels from others, while they can focus on making more expensive S-PVA in bigger sizes.

Dell do not make panel themselves, thus they have even more flexibilities to choose from wide range of panels. And they never state that which panel is used in which model, nor do they guarantee buyers will get which panel. Which makes many LCD makers can freely choose any panels and we all can't sue them.

Yeah, i know that. Actually, i don't mind that if i get the Chimei panel because it is good enough for me. I just afraid that i get the A panel which is dominant in blue.... shakehead.gif Is A panel still available in the market?

and i dun think the price for 226BW will drop below RM1100 during a PC Fair..
so any advice? since Dell got a tempting promotion, should i go for Dell instead?
