QUOTE(kianwee @ Aug 6 2007, 11:51 PM) LMAO! You should research more on the font size before purchasing. The font size is just perfect for me. I guess you have no other choice, either set it at 1680x1050 and get a lasik surgery, or set it a lower resolution and live with huge blocky fonts. There is one other solution, in your Display control panel change the dpi setting. Default is 96, move it to 105 and your fonts will be about 10% bigger. If still not enough, can increase dpi to 120 even.

Getting Started

|
would u guys still recommend the 226bw for my specs (see sig) since its quite likely i wont be able to play most games in the native resolution of the monitor (1680x1050 right?)? would it be better for me to get a 19inch instead? i wont actually mind unless by playing at a resolution the quality is so bad my 17inch crt is better any input by users please???

From your rig in the sig, it seems that you are using X1905pro right? I dont see you having any trouble playing at 22" native resolution.

QUOTE At the end of the month, they will first release a clone of the current 226BW, the 223BW, for less expensive but it won't be as reactive. It will have a 5 ms panel, and theoretically no possibility of activating the overdrive to go to 2 ms. Its expected price is around 300 euros, compared to the recommended 370 of the 226BW. While we know that the latter is found for as low as 335 euros, this could mean some good things for those who might opt for this younger sibling. Samsung specifies that all production of the 223BW will be with Samsung panels. From BeHardware

"Samsung specifies that all production of the 223BW will be with Samsung panels."
then this will redeem back some confidence of consumers, and cheaper summore, between 2ms and 5ms that ain't noticeable differences at all, a good buy and will be LG 226WTQ killer to some extent

As for me I watch series, movies and play games on my pc hence 22" is really worth it. Can probably last me few years before the price of 24" drops then I might move on to 24", but 22" is really damn nice won't regret.

E228WFP really no way to set 1:1 pixel mapping? When I browsed thru the OSD menu, very few settings are available. don't even have preset modes like movie, internet, text found in Samsung. Just 3 color modes, 1 default mode and user defined. When set the HD YPbPr, the screen colors become totally distorted, when watching movies can notice some jerkiness when the camera is moving around.

E228WFP does NOT support 1:1 Mapping via Hardware configuration. However, you can try it via the Software way which is using Nvidia Control Panel and set it to use 1:1 Mapping..
