dont waste ur time with PC Fair. during PC Fair u go to LYP and buy ur stuff there...should have a lesser crowd. and prices oso roughly the same. our PC Fair here is a real joke honestly. go to singapore's PC Fair and they slash prices like mad!

*
At the previous PC Fair I managed to buy some networking stuff and multifunction printer for lower price than at LYP. So I wouldn't say that the price is "roughly the same".

Whoa, that's fast! Do you live in Penang? And some more they delivered late at night too; I thought they stop delivering after office hours.

Wonder at what resolution did you set  your 22 in lcd? At 1680x1050 can you guys still see the wording, i mean the fonts is so small, and did you guys change to large fonts.TQ
*
You should always set LCD to native resolution for maximum sharpness. At 1680x1050 on a 22" LCD the wording is still slightly bigger than on a 17" LCD.

watching astro on 32" lcd tv not so good...

it looks pixelated... when I change to 4:3 format then only it looks okay/normal

but it leave a 2 black bars on the left & right
*
Astro signal is 4:3 so if you want it to fit full screen on your LCD tv then it has to stretch to 16:9. Whenever you have to stretch a picture the quality will worsen. Watching in original format is best, but you have to live with the black bars on the sides.

by the way, u guys connect via the vga cable or the dvi cable?
if using the dvi cable, can you guys click the auto adjust at the monitor button? mine "auto adjust", "Positioning", and "Image setting" seems to be disable de...is it like this?
*
Using DVI is best because the original signal from your video card is digital in nature. With DVI the signal is kept as digital from video card to monitor and it is perfectly synchronised (hence no need for auto adjustment, etc).

VGA input is analogue and there is digital-analogue conversion going on. In order to lock in the signal better you need to auto adjust, which you don't need to do with DVI.

guys got question here, I am considering to buy Dell 22" Lcd since the offer is so attracting. due to I now studying in outstation and  I got no credit card, I have to use Telegraphic transfer aka bank transfer to Dell. Anyone tried TT method before?

from the dell order page, I can't find order number nor invoice no., the only I can see is Online Reference Number, is this the one should be key in?

Normally for this model how long will it take to deliver.? and what courier they use and is it reliable?

Lastly can we know the estimated delivery date? No way I have to stay at home just to wait for them isn't it? biggrin.gif

edit: If they have to delay the product due to lack of stock, do I have the right to demand cancellation of order? Will I get the full refund?
*
I've not tried TT method before, always using credit card. But I doubt if there is any issue with TT, Dell won't run away with your money smile.gif

Yes, you can key in your online ref number.

If there is stock, delivery is about 3-4 days. After you place order, usually next day Dell will send you email about estimated delivery date. If you're worried about this, you can put a note in the comment box when you check out to ask Dell to call your hp about delivery.

Not sure which logistics partner they use, but they are reliable. They can precisely identify which day they will come, but hard to estimate time (usually will say between 9 am - 5 pm). I suppose you can call them to make a special request (e.g. please deliver in the morning) and I think they will try to accommodate you.

Usually if the product is out of stock, they will de-list or not put the price on the website.

I'm also an owner of the Dell E228WFP. Got it last week (took about 4 days from order). Quite pleased with the monitor, good value for money.

Mine is Rev A02 - how about everybody else? I read in another forum, apparently can tell which panel by looking at the last letter in the serial number. Mine ends in "S", what's yours?

how to check for Rev no.?
and is it possible to determine the panel used?
*
It's on the sticker at the back of the monitor. Also stated on the box. First version is Rev A00, then Rev A01, Rev A02 ...

Apparently, if serial ends in "S" = Samsung, "L" = LG Philips, etc. Don't know if the info is reliable or not, saw it mentioned in another forum. Too bad Dell removed the panel info from the service menu.

Mmm you're one of the pros at CS if I recall correctly.

The thing is tyss, there IS input lag if you don't play at native resolution. I have a 6800gt which is also quite old, about three years now. So I tried to play at 1680 so I could preserve some of the graphics settings, but there was a definitely non responsiveness. So I tried switching to native resolution and it was gone. Basically if you're not using native res, the monitor's scaler has to kick in and work out how to approximate it's pixels to match. This will be true for ALL monitors except the high end ones with more powerful scalers. And we're not talking just a few hundred ringgit more, more like a couple of grand.

Conclusion is - play at native resolution, and get a new graphics card to sustain that.
*
If you're playing at lower res than your monitor's native res, have you tried using 1:1 pixel mapping? Maybe this helps with the input lag since the monitor is not scaling the image to full screen.

Please give your feedback if you try this.

LMAO! You should research more on the font size before purchasing. The font size is just perfect for me. I guess you have no other choice, either set it at 1680x1050 and get a lasik surgery, or set it a lower resolution and live with huge blocky fonts.
*
There is one other solution, in your Display control panel change the dpi setting. Default is 96, move it to 105 and your fonts will be about 10% bigger. If still not enough, can increase dpi to 120 even.

all WS expert I need some help, last night I change the do not scale setting in nvidia control panel, when i restart my computer , the monitor keep going into saving mode, so I forced to use the analog connector with dv-vga converter to connect my cpu.Now i wanted to change the setting back, but I cant see the setting in nvidia setting.
*
If you were using DVI previously try manually selecting the input again instead of letting the monitor auto detect. Sometimes the monitor might default back to analogue input so you need to tell it to use DVI.

seems like not only me can't find scaling setting... sad.gif
what's going wrong... any expert can help...?
*
Go to your Control Panel --> Display --> Settings --> Advanced --> then select the tab with your video card. Then you will see many options related to your video card. In mine there is a section for "Digital Flat Panel Settings" and it's controlled from there. Can you find that section?

I need help with the Dell 2407WFP-HC PC Normal Preset in Service Menu.

I accidentally changed it and it reads as R238 G253 & B234.

Please share with me your default setting.T o do this, turn the monitor off. Now hold down the menu button and the plus button at the same time. While holding the two buttons down turn on the monitor. When it turns on release all the buttons then press the minus button. The Dell hidden menu will then come up and you can see down the bottom it has 2407WFP-HC.
An easier way to tell is the + and - buttons have a little icon next to them that shows contrast and brightness. Normal 2407's don't have those icons.

Please somebody help.
*
I don't have a 2407WFP-HC, but normally the default would be RGB all the same reading. Probably all at 253.

My 228WFP also has some bleeding on the left side.
