Only bought the 0w20 Honda brand engine oil due to recommended viscosity on my car, price and genuine. Last time tried & bought at Vanli Lazada, mobil 1 5w30, the fc poorer and then retain back to my viscosity until now. If u want that certification etc, buy Mobil 1. Last time they dont sell 0w20 mobile 1, now can get at Vanli

Hmm..strange to know that Vanli sell Honda EO. The last I check with them, they don't sell any Honda parts.

No I mean in the previous reply, bought Honda EO at Hingan Pudu, KL. Few times also tried the Mobil 1 bought from Vanli. Just now Vanli also sell the Mobil 1 0w20 where last time they don't bring it here, only 5w30 and 5w40

Cause 0w20 in demand now. More and more car using low viscosity oil. Hybrids, new engines, and start-stop engine. Some even using 0w16.

Bro, mind sharing what are the car brand/models recommending 0W16 by local assemblers/OEMs that you're aware of ?

The 0w16 is latest viscosity offered by few engine oil brand. Saw Petronas Syntium and Mobil 1 both in 0w16

https://www.tirereview.com/0w16-oil-different-0w20/

As engine design improves, we will see lower viscosity oil being recommended. Just like how 0w20 is being recommended for more cars in Malaysia. 0w16 will soon be normal recommendation assuming EV don't start to take over the ICE too soon.

Hi guys, I've just bought EO from shopee, the one to the right most is the most recent purchase. This was priced at Rm76.
I was trying to avoid those that're too cheap to be true, and skipped those 50-60 bucks ones.

The 1st bottle on the left, and the middle bottle, one of them is an original that I bought from the workshop (about 6 months ago). Another one is a 5W30 I bought from lazada at RM80,about 1.5 years ago.

Any idea which is the fake or original? I actually recorded a video of it all, swirling the EO around.

In terms of viscosity, the middle one is the least viscous, whilst the 1st and 3rd seems to be of similar consistency, thicker.

I'm posting this more towards my own learning experience, so that I can avoid buying them again in the future.

The middle one, is clearly VERY DIFFERENT, it's less viscous, and of course, clear light gold colour, like pee... vs the other two that's thicker and darker rose gold brown type of colour.

Not really sure which is which, I tried watching videos of engine oils, but some can be original with a darker hue...

Thanks~

Another seller of EO online that seems to say darker colour is original, due to synthetic materials

Don't buy any of these oils if you cannot verify it's authenticity. THE END. There are so many alternatives such as Tesco/Giant supplier or verified distributors.

I guess you're right okay, I'll graduate and buy from tesco next.

As long as 5W30, being full sync shldn't matter and is much better right, vs my semi sync now.

Personally, I won't bother with brands that have lots of fakes. Like direct honda, perodua, toyota brands.

I am going with brands that don't have fakes...like mizu, kaito, exnII, aisin and so on.

You can try Aisin EO. Don't think there are fakes. Quality also is trustable since it's from Aisin.

BTW, dynolube is low quality EO. Don't use it.

Yes they are. If you try to give notice. Their Lorry is everywhere and supplying to many workshop too.

Btw, they have Facebook chat. Pretty responsive. I find it smart to ask the price of spare part there and compare with after market. Many times the difference is not that much and I prefer getting genuine from them. Except absorber biggrin.gif

I used to buy the Honda's top line engine oil from Hingan. Back then, the red cap engine oil (SN0w30) use to cost only RM145 as compared to SC selling at RM200.

I decided to stop buying engine oil from Hingan when the price increased till RM160 (I think).

Tq. Just recently learn about car maintenance and engine oil especially. I've found that how any kind of engine oil can be sold with lack of specification is disturbing. Users only have marketing words to rely on to make decisions.

And today I just learned that most workshop don't give a hoot about the kind of engine oil they pour inside your car.

They just use the engine oil that gives them the highest profit margin.

KK Automoto, Vanli Auto and ST Auto Spares are reputable shops with presence online. I usually shop with them from Lazada, if any problem can always go back to their shop.

Why not return via Lazada? What problem may get? Legit problem?

They are selling actually recycle oil.

I kena with Honda green eart tech 0w-20 fully synthetic.

Bring to mechanic they identify fake oil and oil filter, terus dumped in oil recycling drum.

Bought new with mechanic and burned RM175.

Wasted probably RM100.
