Hi guys, I've just bought EO from shopee, the one to the right most is the most recent purchase. This was priced at Rm76.
I was trying to avoid those that're too cheap to be true, and skipped those 50-60 bucks ones.

The 1st bottle on the left, and the middle bottle, one of them is an original that I bought from the workshop (about 6 months ago). Another one is a 5W30 I bought from lazada at RM80,about 1.5 years ago.

Any idea which is the fake or original? I actually recorded a video of it all, swirling the EO around.

In terms of viscosity, the middle one is the least viscous, whilst the 1st and 3rd seems to be of similar consistency, thicker.

I'm posting this more towards my own learning experience, so that I can avoid buying them again in the future.

The middle one, is clearly VERY DIFFERENT, it's less viscous, and of course, clear light gold colour, like pee... vs the other two that's thicker and darker rose gold brown type of colour.

Is the middle one the original? Since i bought 1 from lazada at 80 bucks, and another from shopee at 76, i guess the fakes should be similar then?
Not really sure which is which, I tried watching videos of engine oils, but some can be original with a darker hue...

Thanks~

Don't buy any of these oils if you cannot verify it's authenticity. THE END. There are so many alternatives such as Tesco/Giant supplier or verified distributors.

I guess you're right okay, I'll graduate and buy from tesco next.

As long as 5W30,  being full sync shldn't matter and is much better right, vs my semi sync now.

Just want to share some info.

I always buy engine oil from a same reputable seller at Shopee. Already bought 3 bottles of Shell HX8 'Untuk Pasaran Malaysia" that came with QR code and alphabets verification.

I've compared these 3 QR and alphabets are all different between these 3 bottles. To me, it seem genuine as fake oils will only use 1 printing throughout all their supply.

Which seller did you buy from? Good info to share

Different year, different batch. Poster post one is 2018 batch so might not have all the authenticity checking methods. The fact that that seller selling 5 year old oil without proper QR verification codes is red flag

But I can con-lan-firm that seller sell fake Shell Helix Ultra from the comment pictures. If that seller can sell fakes, then his other stuff also big red flag

Willing buyer willing seller.
If the seller sell fake cibai online at a bargain and the buyer wants to buy the fake cibai, then its up to the buyer. At the end the seller gains. Buyer also happy, since genuine cibai is alot

No photo/video, no evidence. Anyone can easily fabricate a childhood story and made others believe. But still there will be always idiots whom will believe words than photos.  whistling.gif

Typical keyboard warriors. Both of you.  yawn.gif
Show some UOA evidence for both the fake and the original oil, and then only your story is credible.

Tak payah troll lah, people give evidence, you spin another story. Might as well say your name is Najib devil.gif

If you want to do uoa, you do yourself and post the results here rclxs0.gif

This website has a good guide in identification of older Mobil 1 https://cfrs.ru/en/traffic-online/mobil-sup...lnoe-maslo.html

New Mobil 1 are much harder to fake nowadays. A lot of identification qualities built into it. Kudos to Mobil 1 for going the extra mile
