QUOTE(Steponlego @ Dec 11 2020, 12:39 AM) Even retail physical spare part shop (unknowingly?) sells fake oil. I'd rather buy cheaper fake oil online than buy full priced fake oil from the store. Just buy from store like Tesco/Giant/Jusco for genuine eo

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Dec 11 2020, 07:09 AM) Just buy from store like Tesco/Giant/Jusco for genuine eo Dynolube from Tesco ok or not? Did a bit of digging on their API certification, can't seem to find any product named Dynolube. However, surprisingly I found a number of other no name engine oil brand from Malaysia such as BOLD and Mizu on the site. And if youtube automotive channels are to be trusted, I think all engine oil is more or less the same, cheap does not mean bad - for example they compare Amazon basic oil with other named brand, cheap Amazon oil works fine. Just as long as you get the recommended viscosity right for the engine.

From the spec sheet, I can tell that SE is API SN certified compared to Syntium 3000 LL. For Syntium FR they added Ford and Renault approval. Just get them there if you worry about getting scammed buying fake oil. Price seems to be okay.

As someone opines here , it is meant for Proton SC's . The non-SE was SM/SN then for general market . However, this has been officially 'upgraded' and marketed as SN plus claiming Dexos D1G2 in the last two years or so. IMHO , the latest Syntium 3000 5W30 SN plus data sheet leads me to believe it is a very solid and high quality ois vs typical SN oils like SE whoes data is limited online . Bought directly from Mesra Petronas for 180. Replaced EO that was previously on Mobile 1 5w30 from Lazada ECAS. Mobile 1 5w30 is one of the best EO i used. Even after 10k km, i still dont feel the engine is sluggish. Now will monitor the performance of Syntium 3000 This post has been edited by clockpulses: Dec 23 2020, 04:57 PM

QUOTE(clockpulses @ Dec 23 2020, 05:34 PM) How to do blotter test bro. Would like to contribute You need a 70/80 gm A4 printing paper or a coffee filter to deposit hot engine oil from dipstick after say , more than 20 minutes of driving . Pleased read up on the 15 or so links provided at bottom of Post # 1 here .
