That owl station at Lazala still selling freely without any action from Lazada... Omg..
*
Yes, they are also selling the so called Honda Genuine Oil. I've spoken to an authorized Honda Stockist and they informed me that even their cost price from Honda can't match Owl's Station's engine oil pricing.

So I assume they are selling fakes unless they can inform or educate users on how they can sell it so cheap.

I can't seem to find Owl Station the cheap engine oil seller on Lazada.

Is he still around or business shutdown after fake engine oil factory got raided?

xw-40 is not too bad right?
*
Usually newer cars are recommended by manufacturers to use xW20 or xW30 engine oil.

is their product reliable and genuine?

the cheapest in town compare to other distributor?

They are one of the 6 or 8 authorized official Honda stockist in Malaysia. Their products are 100% genuine. However, they do sell taiwan made parts but they will inform you first whether you want ori or OEM.

I normally visit the spareparts shop near my house. They are called Bay Brothers at section 8 PJ. Although not authorized Honda stockist, they do sell Honda oil and parts.

I just bought the Honda SN0W30 fully synthetic oil from a famous spare parts shop. The packaging looks as if it was fake as circulated from forums and FB.

However, I do have the left over of some oil from the previous oil change which I bought from authorized Honda stockist.

After comparing both oil visually on card board, the smell, the color, the viscosity and others.. They are virtually the same thing. I totally can't differentiate them. Thus, I assume it is the original stuff.

Sometimes, I wonder whether those packaging which people says it is fake is true or not. Packaging, printing etc might change if they change the printing supplier.

Hi, may I know which one is original? Both bought from lazada with different sellers. (OWL station and Triple Star)
*
Owl station reputation was bad. They don't sell on Shopee anymore since many proclaimed their oil are fake.

Do you guys think Paulhew selling engine oil at Shopee are genuine?

To me, it seems quite genuine as many are repetitive customers.

My brother has bought quite a few engine oil from Paulhew ranging from Perodua, Nissan and Petronas oil. So far all seems legit.

I will buy from Paulhew next round since the price is very good. For Petronas Syntium 3000, spare parts shops are selling RM145 but Paulhew are selling it at RM116.

Two questions:
1) anyone using bosch premium x7? Is it good considering the price to be quite affordable.
2) The retail price is like 200+ for this oil. However, online official Bosch is selling at RM99 (currently under 9.9 discount). But found this seller at RM66.20 only!! That is so much cheaper. Could it be fake? I mean Bosch oil is considered new player in the market and not even popular. What are the chances of it being fake?

Since the online official Bosch is already selling it cheap at RM99, I think better get from Bosch rather than the anonymous seller which sells at RM62.

I used to buy the Honda's top line engine oil from Hingan. Back then, the red cap engine oil (SN0w30) use to cost only RM145 as compared to SC selling at RM200.

I decided to stop buying engine oil from Hingan when the price increased till RM160 (I think).

Shell Helix HX8 5W30 SN+ (or Malaysian version marketed as HX8 X 5W30 SN+) available in Giant USJ1 has
MB 229.5 approval at quite a discount from Shell station version even during non-promotional period.

Of course, Helix Ultra 5W40 at lower price carrying MB 229.5 approval has been available in Giants for a long long time as you understood it.

None of AeonBig Subang Jaya stock carries MB 229.5 approval.

How much is Giant selling the HX8 5w30 now?

Fucking hell, was so excited to see someone discover a way to tell between fake and genuine oil, and then I stopped reading cuz I couldn't understand the language.

But I'm glad I couldn't understand the language, cuz based on the replies, doesn't seem like much heh

I've already decided to use the Shell HX8 5w30 for my next oil change.. Reason being, the oil dye colour of this engine oil is quite translucent and looks quite clear.

I know I will be able to identify that it is genuine oil just by looking at how clear the oil colour is... If it's recycled oil, it should be in gold brownish colour.

How did I know of this.. beginning of the year, I bought the HX8 and replace the engine oil on a MYVI. I had trouble checking the dipstick level because they oil colour is too light and translucent. I need to really be under the sunlight and flip the dipstick around to see the oil liquid level.

If it's recycled oil, I bet they can't achieve these sort of colour.

psst...minyak masak pun very clear.... whistling.gif

moreover, it has been debated before in other threads, clear oil doesn't means it's good oil. Also, recycled oil doesn't means it's bad oil.
*
At least it lower the chances of getting used recycled oil lor. Minyak masak is gold colour ma... Not transparent.

Our Malaysia black market recycled oil are inferior as compared to EU.

EU madate all engine oil manufacturers to use recycled oil but woth newly added additives to ensure quality.

Keyword is lower the chances of getting fake oil. Really man...we need government to work with agencies to fight against this fake oil and fake fluids issues. It is really getting out of hand. Cause the problem is, it's hard to detect which oil is genuine or fake.

Hope that our little thread here can continue to educate people on fake oils.

Where are you getting your engine oil now bro?

Just want to share some info.

I always buy engine oil from a same reputable seller at Shopee. Already bought 3 bottles of Shell HX8 'Untuk Pasaran Malaysia" that came with QR code and alphabets verification.

I've compared these 3 QR and alphabets are all different between these 3 bottles. To me, it seem genuine as fake oils will only use 1 printing throughout all their supply.

Which seller did you buy from? Good info to share

Paulhew.

I think Shell Malaysia are forced to implement this method because fake oil are quite rampant in Malaysia especially counterfeiting Shell engine oil.

It's a good deterrent I would say.

Hmm... every compared HX8 to shell Ultra before? Pretty sure there has to be some significant difference for the jump in price... Unker a bit sked to try HX-8
*
Usually the main difference between HX8 vs Helix Ultra is the base oil being used.

I believe the HX8 is using Group III (highly refined) base oil whereas Helix Ultra is using PAO base oil.
