Hi Eiraku,

The new command center will improve the keyboard backlit sync, it also increases the battery life significantly.

For the ONYX big battery pack, we will only offer in GTX1050Ti / 1050, the battery life is increased by 30% after upgrading.

Hey guys, back with some observations, seems like turning off the link state power management in the power profiles did the trick, laptop has been stable since may 9th without any crashes (fingers crossed).

On the other hand, due to the sub-optimal port placements, I've purchased a few additional accessories to make my life easier when editing on the go.

Right angle USB converters so that the cable doesn't stick directly out to my mouse hand

USB C hub and right angle converter for situations where i need to read SD cards and have multiple drives working.

Awesome news for the battery configuration, but I'm abit curious as to why the 1060 is not supported, power draw requirements?

Hmm, 1060 vs battery life..tough one.
The 1050ti is roughly equivalent to the rx580 4gb, right?

I believe it's 1060 + 2.5" drive vs. bigger battery (30% more? additional 1.5 hours?)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the availability of the 2.5 drive bay not related to whether the laptop has a 1060 or 1050 in it?

Maybe it's just TongFang refusing to make a 1060 + extended battery bundle for some reason.

Hmmmmmm.

The drive space is needed for the bigger battery. Nothing to do with the GPU AFAIK. Which is all the more puzzling why the bigger battery cannot come with the 1060 but only the 1050.

I wonder if you're just writing an essay or web browsing, can't you just turn the fans off completely?

You actually can, in a way. You can adjust the custom curves in the Command Center to lowest, and it shouldn't bother you too much.

But yeah, completely off fans, I don't think so unfortunately.

On this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-h6bcAlEqU&t=295s - he goes through 5 levels of fans and then the boost mode (so 6 in total). Is no.1 (which is around 40 dBA) the lowest you refer to?

I guess so. Funny that my idle fans never actually get to 40dba, or at least to my ears.

I think 40dba must be almost silent, same score as all the others except the MSI which is apparently silent at 35.

Should be a light hum when you put your ear very near to the keyboard yeah. And remember, you need to not engage the dGPU in any way to enjoy this lol, as that kicks the dGPU fan on too.

Fans then aren't noticeable/audible to me. If you are worried about noise, the 'clicky' keyboard would be more bothersome in a noise sensitive environment. (And the sudden rev up of the fans sometimes, but this is supposed to be fixed in a BIOS update)

Anyone else updated their windows? Mine is crashing until it's unusable. Todays report.. reboot and goes straight to bios cause it can't find any hdd attached..

user posted image

I think I got a lemon... ):

Manually restarting it again with the power button gets it into windows again but freezes up and goes into the bios once it crashes again..

Also no memory dump so I have no idea what's going on.

Hi kyLL, this issue could be caused by the latest Windows 10 April 2018 Update actually and it has happened to a few of other users as well. However, the problem was rectified with a Windows rollback. You can also send the machine to us for the procedure and we can perform a full system scan for the hardware while your laptop is here.
