That is good news. I'll be sure to mention this during my RMA with you in a few weeks.
Was told it would be RM500 to trade in the 60Hz with the 144Hz. Fees including labor fee as well as color calibration.
and yeah, mine is due for RMA. Got multiple annoying issues since first day  hmm.gif :
- Creaking hinges  dry.gif
- Random unresponsiveness/jittery/lags/  bangwall.gif
- Fan cranking up with no reason even with no load on cpu/gpu/memory  vmad.gif
- Windows starts straight to BIOS, need save BIOS setting before can start Windows  icon_question.gif
- Low battery caused stutter media playback  sad.gif
- battery life <2 hours with minimal browsing, 25% display brightness, lowest kb brightness, light bar off.  shocking.gif
- Turbo fan button no function i.e. nothing happened when pressing.  doh.gif
*
Yes we look forward to your visit.
You can mention all these in details when you do RMA with us. Some of them sound like driver/configuration issues which can be resolved with a driver update. The latest command center can increase the battery life significantly by controlling the RGB backlit brightness.

Any expected time until the refresh, Prince J? That will seal the deal for me. Been following the discussion on NBR -including valuable input by our own Eiraku- and the clickety-clicky-look-its-me keyboard isn't something one could ignore, at least not for me. So to have this option is a welcome news  thumbup.gif

I am not allowed to leak more info at the moment, it won't be very long I would say. Both ILLEGEAR and Tongfang work very closely to gather market feedback to improve the products. The blue-switch clicky sound of mechanical switch, keycap distances etc will all be improved on mechanical keyboard v3. In fact mechanical keyboard v2 is already a big leap compared to v1 in terms of feedback, durability and responsiveness.

Wow, not even a few months and already on the topic of refresh.

Can the existing users upgrade to the new V3 keyboard when it is released?

If they sell the keycaps seperately I want a set for sure. The convex keys are soooo smexy (and looks practical for touch typing).

And yeah, my Onyx is averaging 3 hours under light-normal loads now, and zero other problems.

But then again, I'm normally on my spare 180w adapters so that might just be it.

With cap 3 releasing around the corner, maybe we will skip Cap 2 and go for Cap 3. smile.gif

Yeah am also interested in those caps. Hopefully we can get them separately.

Btw, may I know which OEM charger's fit the ONYX? Looking to pick up a 180W charging brick too.

Asus/MSI/Clevo tipped bricks seem to fit and work well, to be specific ones with 5.5*2.5 mm barrel connectors.

Myself I have been using 1 Asus ADP-180MB F and 2 Lite-On ADP-180MB K (which I suspect might just be the same bloody Delta thing inside, which isn't too bad as Delta make pretty good PSUs) with zero issues so far. And yes, I kid you not when I once said I had a small army of the things lol.

Also Clevo specced Chicony 180w adapters should work too, but are usually pricey for some unknown reason (compared to the Deltas). Similarly Razer units, which are even more expensive.

Averaging 3 hours on battery? I barely reached 2 hours with light usage.

Those 180w, which of them would you say the slimmest? any idea where I can buy it?

Thanks for your detailed reply!

Have a 180W brick from a previous clevo, but the tip is really loose so any slight movement causes the laptop not to charge anynore, but no biggie.

Looking for a second brick so can leave one at the office and one at the house. Used the 150W and while playing games that are relatively demanding still causes sudden shut down despite the latest BIOS.

The 180W adapter is a Chicony adapter. The 150W is a FSP adapter.

Look at the bleed at the bottom of the screen, is this normal?

The 60hz screen has some issue with this, apparently it's common if the brightness is low enough. I also have it but it's only really noticeable in light backgrounds with low brightness.

That is right, brightness was at 25% at the time to preserve battery life.

Hi nyunyu, we can diagnose the screen once your laptop is submitted later and we can try to perform a bezel re-adjustment/screen re-assemble to see if it reduces/eliminates the behaviour smile.gif

Got my army from the great bay of e. Should average to below RM200 each for non-Chicony models (stick to Lite-On, Delta and Asus for best results).

Also, most of the Innolux/Chi Mei 60hz screens do that "occasionally" on low brightness, apparently turning off "auto-brightness" (or adaptive, it's somewhere in power options) makes it happen less for some unknown reason.

Mine only does that once in a long while now, even at 25%.

That said, I also suspect sample variance has something to do with how "often" it does the whole low-brightness backlight dance thing so there's also that.

My battery report. Is this normal? What's yours?

*type in elevated command prompt:
powercfg /batteryreport

https://e66ae35e-f694-4237-9141-5b8eed74710d.htmlpasta.com/

25% drain in 38 minutes (10% brightness, no media, lite browsing)

I'll keep using the laptop as normal and will generate another report.

Hi flarey01, the temperature for the Onyx would be around 74°C for the GTX 1050Ti & 78°C for the GTX 1060 configuration respectively smile.gif

Is that the cpu temp or the gpu temp?
